Maricamp Animal Hospital has made Ocala its home since 2013. We are a full-service small veterinarian who displays an unrivaled commitment to our clients. Our clinic emphasis is on regular preventive healthcare for your pets and we love to educate each client to ensure that their fur babies are healthy for as long as possible.
Leigh-Ann is the Executive Director of Maricamp Animal Hospital and she has been with the practice since 2013. She has successfully completed her CEO training with Veterinary Practice Solutions and she aspires to take the tools that she has learned to help as many pets in Marion County. She is a California girl who loves going to the beach, listening to music and spending time with her family.
SPAH helps pets who are in serious, medical life and death situations and pet families for whom finances are a barrier to saving their pet's life. Maricamp's Marketing Director Kristen Beran said, We want to help pet owners help their pets and avoid situations where animals are euthanized due to treatment cost.
Saving paws and hooves in Central Florida is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and helping small and large animals that are in a life or death situation and there are no finances available for medical treatment. Our goal is to be able to provide financial help to families that can not afford to save their pet.

I took in the stray cat (Bella) I have been feeding for a week. Obviously I am now attached to her because I felt as if she chose me. They were so amazing too her (she doesn't hate me now). The vet was gushing… over how sweet she was which in fact she is very sweet. They accidentally gave her a vaccine I decided to hold off on, well the didn't charge me for that which is great customer service. Booked Bella's spay appointment. Bella and I are excited to be a customer to them now!

I went there for a rabies shot and dental estimate and they tried to tack on many other vaccines and services, attempting to raise my bill to nearly 500. They were very pushy, and tried several times to upsell services and schedule future appointments for services i told them I wasn't sure about. They had a comeback for every way I tried to tell them no. I left feeling bamboozled by the pushy sales pitches and will not return.

They are great for routine exams and such, super nice and helpful, but were severely lacking in the emergency response. I was told no emergency vets available on a Sunday, but could bring my cat in on Monday. He crashed Monday morning and upon arriving we called AND text that there was an emergency and all we got was “we’ll be right there.” As they were coming in and out of the building getting others animals as well as cleaning their signs. We waited for over an hour to even be spoken to! My cat DIED WHILE WE WAITED. Then, we were told there wasn’t even a vet on staff yet! As I said, great

Critical: Reliability
We love this vet but for the last year every visit has taken 2+ hours of sitting in the car waiting on our dog. I understand being short staffed but you're obviously overbooked because the parking lot is always slammed. Going to start looking elsewhere because the waiting is just out of hand anymore! 😫

I brought our dog Roxy in last week because she has really bad allergies and she was eating all of her fur off. Not only did they send me multiple pictures of her and call me to let me know what was going on,… they also called me first thing Monday to check on her. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much for taking care of our old lady Roxy.

Was taking our animals to another local vet and was traumatized by how insensitive they were when we had to put a family dog to sleep and how our kitten was handled. A friend recommended MAH and the decision hasn't been regretful. I don't like having to be separated from my pup but when the tech calls you to let you know how happy she is and how well she's doing it gives you a sense of ease. They even told her happy graduation today because she's done with her puppy vaccines! highly recommend.

I would not recommend this vet to my worst enemy! I took my french bulldog in for emergency evaluation for severe pain and he was diagnosed with an ear infection. the next day my dog was in more pain and lethargic so I called them to let them know. I was not offered to have him seen again only prescribed pain meds. I ended up having to take him to another vet to find out that he was in severe pain due to a pinched nerve in his spine! 5 days of suffering and pain! They are short staffed and very overpriced and Obviously are too busy to have compassion for your fur baby. Horrible experience!! No

Dr. O’Brien & Otero are amazing veterinarians! All of my four legged babies are handled with love and compassion. The staff are equally as amazing! We decided to switch to Maricamp animal hospital after a service decline in our vet of over 10 years. Our dog was recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and suffering with symptoms. The level of care we have experienced with this clinic is amazing! At this point, we’ve dealt with all of their doctors and I’m sure most of their staff. Maricamp Animal Hospital is amazing!!! I needed a Vet for my 4 month old kitty & they got me in the same day, maybe 2 hours later after I called. I was not even a previous customer & they got me right in & taken care of. I would reccomend this Vet to anyone with pets. They even sent a hand written card through the mail saying how much of a pleasure it was to meet Obie (my cat) & that they look forward to seeing us again. 10/10 best Vet I've been to.

Great place! I found this place on google it had the highest rating for my area. I decided to give it a shot and bring him here for routine check up and shots. My dog seemed to enjoy his experience here he didn’t have any troubles coming back for a follow up apt. I liked how they explained the billing to you up front for the suggested work needed. The technician and doctor was super great with handling him and answering all my questions.
