The National Health Care for the Homeless Council is the premier national organization working at the nexus of homelessness and health care. Grounded in human rights and social justice, the NHCHC mission is to build an equitable, high-quality health care system through training, research, and advocacy in the movement to end homelessness.
The easiest way to get involved with our work to end homelessness is to join the Council. Membership allows you access to the latest resources and updates on homelessness and health care, and a network of professionals and people with the lived experience of homelessness. We encourage homeless service providers, their clients, and others interested in social justice to advocate to help end homelessness-and that includes you!
The National HCH Council's Annual Reports feature data on our training and technical assistance achievements, in addition to summaries of our focus areas and anecdotes demonstrating our impact. This website is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $1,967,147 with 20 percent financed with non-governmental sources.
The principal office of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council is in Nashville, Tennessee. Staff and contractors pursue our ambitious agenda in research, training, education, organizing, and advocacy from offices in various locations.
