Okinii Japanese Restaurant

Even if I were a petty b-word, I would still have a hard time finding something bad to say about this location. The atmosphere is calm and easy to talk in. I liked my Okinii Ramen and Crystal Dumplings, the Merlot went smoothly with it. And my waitress frigin' bowed every time she came by!

Great service! Amazingly fresh fish! Sashimi was on point, the rolls were very unique and allll so delicious! Blown away! You will not be disappointed coming here! Wendy thank you for making our amazing lychee mojitos from scratch and giving us such great recommendations all around! Might be a new regular here! :)

Ordered for lunch. Was surprised to see ramen as a lunch special. I can barely finish a regular sized portion of ramen. The lunch portion/size was perfect and it came with a California roll.

I ordered chicken ramen. It was just okay. I should have ordered it to be made spicy..it needed more flavor in my opinion. Portion was perfect for lunch though. It came with a California roll, which was fresh and yummy.

I also ordered crystal shrimp. 4 pieces to an order. It was good and had a generous amount of shrimp.

I would order again, but I would explore more of the menu instead.

Such a good deal for lunch! We wanted to try out this place for lunch, because I saw they had several options of lunch specials. The specials were not strictly limited to the usuall 2 roll and 3 roll deal. There was specials for ramen, and other hot dishes. So we got the Tonkatsu ramen lunch special for $10 and the Vegetable ramen lunch special for $8 both came with California roll. I also got an order of tobiko and masago sushi.. I ordered through Grubhub for pickup, and the estimated time it would take for my order was 30 to 40 mins. I went to the restaurant after 20 mins and my order was ready

Did some ramen taste testing tonight from a few restaurants. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was not good and the pork belly tasted gross. Will not order again. Seems like cheap ingredients. Also had the shrimp gyoza which tasted frozen and not freshly made.

Ordered Kani fried, rock shrimp and mini pork buns. Everything was DELICIOUS. Best decision to order here.

Disappointed. Sushi is good, but average. Their soy sauce is super salty and their miso soup is 99% broth. Service is also slow. 40 minute wait for a "20 minute" take out order with only one table in the restaurant.

The question here is why did I wait so dang long to get here? Tucked into a strip mall in Massapequa is this unexpected gem. So unassuming on the outside, when you open the doors we were transported to another world filled with warm staff, attentive service and delicious food.

The Crispy Rice starter is not to be missed. The Pork Katsu bento box was just enough - except that katsu sauce.....I could have put it on a shoe and still devoured it. And to warsh it all down the Mango tea is a must get. It is as fun to watch being made as it is to drink. I've never seen a bobba tea shaker!

I usually order California roll with spicy Mayo on top and on the side, if I order on the Google or Grub Hub I’m able to put it in the notes and they always comply. I also get miso soup and put in the notes spicy please, which makes it more flavorful! Not spicy hot, but with flavor. 👍🏼 The last time I picked up, the lady who brought the food out wanted to make sure my soup was made spicy, so she double checked and was very nice & friendly to me. Came here just for a change of scenery from my usual sushi goto in massapequa. You know what they say though...."if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! I got the three roll lunch special, with an order of clear soup. What I got was three overly stuffed rice rolls with miso soup. I get that not all sushi is created equal but I would personally prefer getting smaller rolls with less rice than huge rolls full of rice.

The shrimp tempura was very underwhelming, the salmon roll was fishy, but the tuna was good..aside from so much freakin rice. Overall not bad, but just not a place I

I was not happy with the service. First, the edamame was missing from the order and after calling, I had to wait about a half hour for them to deliver it. Second, the kani salad was very disappointing. I order this all the time from many different sushi restaurants. Not only did this one cost a bit more than usual but it had VERY little kani (crab) in it. Instead, it was mostly iceberg lettuce and cucumbers, neither of which were listed in the description, and both of which are not usually in kani salad at all. Wow! We’re right next to this place and we just tried it today. So good sushi. Quick preparation and very presentable. Definitely coming back soon. We loved everything!

We waited over an hour for delivery and never got our food. Ended up having to cancel our order and start cooking dinner after 8:00 PM.
EDIT: they dropped it off right away free of charge! Much appreciated.

This is my favorite sushi spot! I order from here at least once a week. They are very nice and the sushi is always fresh. Also, they make a great bubble tea!

During COVID I wanted sushi SO BAD but couldn’t imagine it coming to me free and GOOD especially my fried rolls. I was WRONG. The Rocky Mountain Roll was the BEST SUSHI ROLL I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! Ugh! I wish I could eat more but I was SO full. Honestly you have to order from here!

My favorite sushi place! The staff is the friendliest and the food is always ready for pick up very quickly. I love getting the spicy maki combo with the miso soup and I'm never disappointed.

Never been a fan of sushi but I found my match at Okinii. They have a roll that has crab, lobster, and cream cheese, and when I tell you it tastes like heaven on your taste buds, please believe me. I usually order it with a side of hibachi rice, I love the rice just be sure to tell them no pepper. I find the pepper to be too much but without it, perfect. The service is fast and the staff is friendly.

On 3/14/2020, I saw a bunch of the workers, had coughs and they kept wiping their noses. The guy behind the counters eyes where completely blood shot. The sushi chefs kept sneezing.

No COVID-19 for me, they should not be opened and need to close and be completely sanitized.

Good food and service, my white wine was not cold and their drink selection is very limited

This was my 1st time here and they were good. The service was good and fast, but i must say i was the only one there since it was almost lunch time.....lol I didnt wait 2 long and the food was amazing! I will be coming back.

Okini has great food and very fresh and tasty I have been a repeat customer. Decent price for sushi. Definitely recommend.

This is one of our favorite sushi place in the area. Nice and clean place, friendly waitress, great services and yummy food. The food portion seems about right. This was our first time order rock shrimp and it was a surprise! The $8 order came in with 10 yummy shrimps. The other plate that we would recommend was the pineapple fire rice. Taste very yummy! Love this place and will come back soon.

Delicious food, service was a little slow for a Monday night but an overall good experience. Nice selection of sushi, Thai and Japanese cuisines. Fantastic saki and dessert menus as well.
