Dannon and her team did a great job on my husband's car. I brought in his car to fix some nuisance issues like the AC, and we ended up discovering a few other little problems. They were very efficient with the repairs, and charged a reasonable price.
Additionally, their service was very responsive and communicative. I was aware at all times of where we were standing and had say in the repair process. Her service really made the experience stand out for us. Thank you!

My car broke down on a Friday morning. I thought being close to the weekend, it would be hard to find a repair shop but I was recommended this place and immediately called them before bringing my car in. The owner answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. A & E Automotive is VERY reliable. I really appreciated how they gave me the full rundown of my car once I brought it in and how patient they were with me through the phone. On 09/14/21 I've broken down on i-101, half-way from San Francisco, driving my daughter to UCSB during the night. With the engine's rough stalling and the dashboard turning into a christmas decorations, I suspected the worst - timing belt teeth being torn. As the flatbed was driving us to Goleta I was looking through the reviews of all repair shops to whom I could entrust my well taken care off and reliable, but well aged (18yo) LexusGX470. I was glad to find someone open early 7:30am as I needed to have my car working to move my daughter to UCSB with all of her belongings and leave the same day

I was in a bit of a jam, needing a trailer hitch installed on my car for a move I'm doing in the less than a week. I'd brought it to another shop where I'd already paid for both parts and installation. The other shop had told me that they couldn't finish the install because one of the bolts had been bent and also damaged the threads in the screw… hole going into the frame. I was informed I needed to get the hole re-tapped. Which is very hard to find a shop that will do that kind of work.

WARNING!! I brought my truck here because my friend worked there and I thought it would be an easy breezy experience but I was horribly wrong! The mechanics are sloppy with their work, they hire people who need way more training and because of their sloppy and unprofessional behavior they forgot to put a gasket on my transmission filter. An easy thing to remember in my opinion but they forgot it and no one thought to double check their work.
Because of this mistake, a simple transmission fluid change turned into a blown up transmission that cost me $3,100.

Me and my girlfriend were in Santa Barbara visiting from LA this past weekend driving my miata around the mountains. We pulled over at the top of Lizard's Mouth and I popped the hood and noticed the radiator was still on (car was off) and coolant was spraying on the engine bay. Worried about overheating problems and being stuck up there needing a tow, we quickly drove back down to the nearest garage to get it checked out before driving back to LA. Fortunately the closest shop was A&E who quickly diagnosed the problem, sorted us out for the drive home, and we were back on the road within 30 minutes

It was a pleasant experience from start to finish, thank you A&E - I'm so glad I found you! First of all, I called late on a Thursday asking if it was possible to inspect my car on Friday because I was taking a trip over the weekend. Dannon said that I could drop it off in the morning and she'd do her best to fit it in ... and they did! She was so pleasant and welcoming when I arrived and told me about their business and it was clear that they take a lot of pride in their service quality and honest communication with customers. The technician that came out to service my dad's refrigerator was very nice, but never sent the work order over to the refrigerator company. When I call A & E, they said their system was down and would be down for a few weeks. I had to call another company to come out and service the refrigerator again.

I went to A&E to get my front windshield replaced and my oil changed. Each time, they give your car a comprehensive check up for free and they take pictures of everything. Each time I came back to pick my car up, they showed and explained everything they found. One time they found and fixed a nail I didn’t know I had in my tire, probably saving me from a flat tire down the road! They are always so kind and helpful and I recommend them to anyone in the area.

Please, please take note of my review and avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. I'm not one to offload my frustrations on this app. I only write about good experiences on Yelp and try to avoid writing bad reviews. This is the one exception. If I could give this place -10 stars I would.
I get a call from my girlfriend a couple days ago. Her car barely starts then dies after no more than 10 minutes on the road. It's un drivable. This place is recommended to her by a friend. No one even acknowledged me when I entered. There were two receptionists and 4 mechanics within 8 feet of me. After five minutes I got an "we'll be right with you" after ten minutes "do you have an appointment ?"
Was passed off to receptionist who then took a call, returned her attention to me and wanted to book me next week for a simple smog check. No thanks.

I was so happy to have found this business!! It is a family-run business with a long history in Goleta, so they have loyal and long-time employees. As a result, I feel very confident that the service I had was fair-priced and well-done. The owner of the business was right there in the shop and her very experienced and conscientious right-hand man supervised everything. (The owners are a husband and wife team who are very dedicated to their business.)

I have been coming to A&E for a bit over a year now and I am so happy with their services! They saved my used Prius when I bought it and some issues came up, and have been great ever since. I was nervous as a first time car owner to go to a autoshop, especially as a female college student who only owned a car for a couple months. A&E has always given me great services which I feel are at a reasonable price, and has been super informative and thorough without being pushy.

This was the second time I've used the services of A & E Automotive which is a small family owned business. I am impressed by the professionalism and time that was taken to explain everything that was proposed for the car. I've also been impressed that they use text and email in addition to the telephone to keep me informed of progress on our… vehicles.
They do a Courtesy Inspection detailing the condition of the car to determine if it is in good condition, needs future attention, or needs immediate attention. These include links to photos showing wear and tear, fluid levels, and condition

Kind service, fast turnaround. Biggest problem (and the reason for one star only) is that NO EMPLOYEES WERE WEARING MASKS. I saw two mechanics working on vehicles, two mechanics in the back, and two people sitting at the help desk. No masks in sight, and no signs requiring masks. Three customers (including me) were there, and just two of us were wearing masks. Pretty unacceptable, especially with SBC moving back to the Purple Tier. Step it up, A&E Automotive, for the safety of our community.

A & E has been working on my cars for about six years, and have always had time to take my car in, and have always done the job quickly. Since I started working in Goleta in 2014, they have found the time to drop me off or pick me up at work. For a big job that took more than one day, they dropped me at the airport so I could pick up my rental.
