On December 23,2021 our family came to eat at your restaurant and it was wonderful from the time I walked in the door. The food was fabulous and the staff was supper. Friendly and very nice to be around. When I come back to Kenosha I will be back. Thank you it was like going back in time to when my husband, which has passed and I lived in Germany while he was in the service. This visit to your restaurant brought back memories. Your food I rate a 20
Thank you

Quaint ambiance, great German food. We had the Gerhard Schnitzel and it was so good. The liver pate they serve while you wait on the main course was one of the best I've had & my boyfriend was obsessed with the cheese & bacon rolls. If you're ever in the area, definitely check it out

Good food and a great place to go while you're in the Kenosha area.

The staff was really nice & the beet salad to start is a nice touch.

Also, nice Christmas decorations.

I had high hopes for this restaurant as I love German food and good restaurants are hard to find. We traveled 25 miles for the worst "German food" we have ever had! The sauerbraten tasted like pot roast soaked too long in vinegar and the schnitzel was dry and tough. The tables are very cramped and the service was poor. If you are looking for authentic German food steer clear of this tacky old place with lousy food and marginal service.

What a special experience for a joint birthday! The food was incredible, Prime rib was the best EVER-sauerbraten was perfect, spaetzel was so yummy, my kids loved it. Slightly fancy feel but so down to earth without the snobbery. This will be a family favorite for years to come! Very kid friendly even though with the traditional table setting and "steakhouse" feel.

The food is good as usual but the heavyset older hostess has something to be desired. She is rude and enjoys lecturing customers as she seats them. She goes on to say that she has such a difficult job and no one seems to understand that. Please! The waitress was wonderful and attentive. We won’t be back after this horrible experience.

One of the premier German restaurants in the U.S. It’s Family owned in Kenosha. All the food is fresh cooked from scratch. Better than most restaurants in Germany. The Bratwurst and Knockwurst dinner platter with sauerkraut and fresh potatoes and carrots was incredible. It is award winning for a reason. Service was excellent thanks to Beth. The owner came over to check on us and she was a lovely person. Price was very reasonable and portions huge. We were in heaven!!

Excellent cuisen!
A must for Fall dining. The Ham has flavor you have never ate. It's so delicious. You must order it. They could be more generous with the spaetzle as it was only 1/4 cup. But still good. The meat at this establishment is extraordinary!
We did take out. The staff brought it directly to our car.
They have outdoor seating.
We may do that sometime as we had our dog with us and they said they allow dogs on the patio.
Must return.
Highly Recommended!

Soooo disappointed.... I have been to many German restaurants and grew up making German food. The food really lacked the deep rich flavor except for the goulash. The schnitzel is turkey not pork or veal and compare to schnitzel when I was in Germany was small and bland. The baked potato was a very small potato the size of your hand. The schnitzel was super expensive for a small schnitzel! The sauerbraten did not have enough gravy. The meat was tender but dry and the spaetzle quantity was small for noodles. The rueben sandwich was brought out opened faces - strange presentation but my daughter

What a wonderful experience! House of Gerhard has great food and such friendly, amazing staff. We were treated like family and were told that we would not leave the restaurant hungry. House of Gerhard made good on that promise. We had delicious appetizers, bread (three kinds), pate, salad, soup, drinks, and main course. I wish we had room for dessert, but we had already eaten so well, dessert was not needed. Price didn't break the bank, either. Such a great restaurant!

Great new find. Or new try I should say. I've seen it driving by and heard about it from friends and acquaintances since moving here 4 years ago but never stopped in. Covidinterruptis, ya know.

Anyway...on to my review. Lovely afternoon spent with my little sister at a quaint, semi old world restaurant. Everyone was very friendly there. Our waitress was sweet. They dress kinda German barmaid. Oddly, it's in a former house so the floors are a tiny bit uneven. JUST LIKE EVERY GERMAN RESTAURANT I'VE EVER BEEN!! It was an odd thought.

Onto the food. Very tasty. We both were just in

I can not say enough great things about this place. Don't let the interior/ kitschy decor stop you from trying it. From the minute we walked in we were greeted so welcoming and had amazing service throughout the night! The complimentary starters were delicious! The huge stein of authentic German beer I ordered (with suggestions from our lovely waitress) was a perfect accompaniment to the amazing meal. I ordered the prime rib which was so big! And therefore definitely worth the price. I'll go as far as saying It's the best prime rib around this area. The spaetzel w/ gravy was tender

Oh House Of Gerhard, you are my new best friend! The exterior has an old world look with stucco and German crests. There is an adorable outdoor patio as well.

On a whim, I met my friend for a bite to eat while she waited for her husband to finish golfing. I called ahead and mentioned we would like to sit in the bar if possible. When we arrived, the owner Sabine was sooo welcoming. She showed us 2 tables she had set up so that we would have a choice. We opted for the high top by the window.

The foyer is adorable. It feels like the sun room and your Aunt's house. The interior has that sweet

Good hearty German food. Dinners come with salad and some table munchies which were old world 1980's style but still tasty. Dinner was good. We all ordered sauerbraten. It was tender, a little stringy but good. We had it with soaetzel and red cabbage. Our server was cheery and attentive. She told us that everything was house made but we later found out the desserts were all frozen which was disappointing. So everything was great until our server asked if we enjoyed everything. I asked why would she ask that and she said she thought the tip was low. Regardless of whether it was or not, we
