James A. Morton and Sons Funeral Homes, Inc. has been serving the greater Baltimore communities for more than six decades. Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
Someone you love has died. You are now faced with the difficult, but important, need to mourn. Mourning is the open expression of your thoughts and feelings regarding the death and the person who died. It is an essential part of healing. The following articles provide many practical suggestions to help you move toward healing in your unique grief journey.

Wosre funeral home I've EVER dealt with!! Woman in office I at least 80 years old, had to repeat myself over and over she gave me wrong information resulting in drama AND allowed someone else to pick up my brother's ashes that were legally mine they were taken out of state and I now won't have them for a person I helped raise...he spent over half his life with me especially after losing our Mother 9 years ago. Ive now had to file larceny charges coo said person as well as the funeral home, WHO I SPECIFICALLY TOLD NOT TO RELEASE MY ASHES TO HER!! SHE had already pocketed the extra money I raised

Worst customer services ever! Since James Morton passed away the service and professionalism has not been the same. Do not entrust your love ones to them, find another mortuary to handle the burial and/or cremation. Between the miss information and the lack of ability to obtain your death certificates, getting the body processed, being able to find the lot of a person buried, you continue to to get the wrong information. Whatever you do do not talk to Mrs Morton, not only is she senile but she gets information processed incorrectly take it from me find another mortuary.

I have never used their services, however I have come to celebrate the life of friends and family serviced by James A. Morton & Sons over the years. I have always witnessed and experienced good customer service. There is an old saying you get what you pay for. You cannot expect a Mercedes Funeral Service when you working with "Chevy Funds". With that said it is considered poor taste to do and say what some of you are doing in this blog. It is obvious that whatever was done, no laws were broken. FYI if you live long enough, you will get old and as we get older we are all subject to forget now and

The ladies that worked here were very nice. My major concern was the room not being properly prepared and the technical equipment did not work. It is already hard enough morning a love one and it was very inappropriate to have to help the staff work their equipment.
