Services
In April of 1976, we gained possession of the vacant funeral facility of the Halstead Funeral Home at 1206 W. North Avenue. In May of 1978, we expanded our facility to the adjoining building, 1208 W. North Avenue. All renovations and alterations were done by the staff and personal friends.
These new facilities provided central air, separate restrooms, closed-circuit TV monitors for large numbers of mourners and other items to provide that personal touch. In 1980, the name took another change to become the WILLIAM C. BROWN COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 1206-08 W. North Avenue, which is now our present location.

Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

I highly recommend this funeral home. They met me with great professionalism and patience. I was really scared to view my husband but once there, I was in awe and didn't want to leave his side. They simply helped me lay my husband to rest with great pride. Thank you Charmaine and family for all that you have done.
