By providing surviving family and friends with an atmosphere of care and support in which to share thoughts and feelings about death, funerals are the first step in the healing process. It is the traditional way to recognize the finality of death. Funerals are recognized rituals for the living to show their respect for the dead and to help survivors begin the grieving process.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
Some of the deceased's family members may be able to receive Social Security benefits if the deceased person worked long enough under Social Security to quality for benefits. You should get in touch with Social Security as soon as you can to make sure the family receives all of the benefits to which it may be entitled.
The first Caring Place facility opened in Pittsburgh in 1997. Since that time, the program has expanded across Pennsylvania, with additional facilities in Erie, near Harrisburg, and in Warrendale. Webhealing.com, the first interactive grief website on the internet, offers discussion boards, articles, book suggestions, and advice for men and women working through every aspect of grief.

I was very pleased with the service my family received. I was very concerned about how my mom would look as she was extremely emaciated due to her bout with cancer; Mr. Jones promised he would bring my mom's original life-like look back and he did exactly what he said. My mom looked as beautiful as she did prior to her bout with cancer. Additionally, Mr. Jones was professional, informative and compassionate. I love the fact that he volunteered information instead of me having to remember all the aspects of a funeral. This is my family's second time using his services and we will continue to use

Very unprofessional. The younger male there was dressed in a black jumpsuit, took calls while attending to my family, made me uncomfortable when I didn’t want any of the urns they presented, and he was attending to other clients obituaries in the middle of working with us. Would NOT recommend! They also tried to send away supporting family members and friends thus causing MORE DISTRESS to my family. Very uncompasionate for a funeral home. Also it could be more organized and inviting. Would give zero starts if that was an option.
