The place is closed now... but i loved coming here. the food was always on point and loved seeing the all the regulars. everyone knows each other and its like a big get together ❤ Fridays and Saturdays Joe was always there playing the piano. Nothing like hearing Piano playing in the background while having a nice dinner. I surely will miss this place!

Closing after 50 years so wanted to go back after first trip 2 years ago. stellar service with Kevin! Wellington and Dover sole excellent! bisque and tempura lobster tasty but chili sauce for tempura a bit spicy but my husband loved it. caprese appetizer very good but overpriced for 20.00 as well as french onion soup for 15. but entrees playing and taste top notch and hand filleted side table sole exceptional! only 5 days recommend to go try also offer lighter fare in charming tavern..

I just wandered onto a review of this restaurant and wanted to share my thoughts on Vickers. I used to work there many many years ago - late 90’s (I know I’m biased) and wanted to a share my thoughts on Arturo and his legacy. After many years of thought and experience,
I tip my cap to that great restaurant man and his family. Honestly- it wasn’t all one man and it rarely is… but that family knew what it took to be successful and they have clearly carried on the tradition. For those of you who have a place where they are known as “regulars”… you know what I’m referring to…. Places

Recently ate here after funeral. Food and service was impeccable. Salad delicious. My son and I do not eat salmon but tried it and it was very good. I would order it as an entree if going back sometime. We were well pleased. The manager? Circulated throughout. I never had an empty water glass or had to ask for anything. Our needs were met before we knew we had them.

Spent 2021 Valentine's Day at this awesome restaurant and We were not disappointed. Vickers checks all the boxes from ambiance, service, and most importantly great food!
Ambiance- Talk about classy. I love the old classy farmhouse feel. Place is spotless beautiful white table clothes decorations are on point. Plenty of space between tables for privacy and they went over the top with a live piano player.
Food- Since we went on Valentine's Day we had a prefix menu which normally scares me because I feel like stuff is pre-cooked and sits around for these occasions. That was not the

It's one of the few high end restaurants left in the area from the bygone years. The decor of queen Anne chairs, white tablecloth and dark wood trims present a touch of grandiose. We ordered the today's special of sea bass with shrimp, NY strip steak, and Kobe burger sandwich with mushroom soup. The soup was a disappointment but everything else was good. The server was very attentive and the overall service was excellent. With covid-19 still a concern for most people, a full service high end restaurants are definitely struggling, and we were the only table in one of the dinning rooms.

Hidden gem! Outdoor seating a plenty. Escargots (6) had good flavor - ask for extra bread. Caesar and harvest salads were worth every penny. Steak Diane was the house favorite that stood out to me on the menu...it was a great choice. The brandy-mushroom-cream reduction over the beef tenderloin was mouth watering. Sorry no pic, it was devoured too quick A+

This is specifically about their approach to Valentine's Day and was a one-off experience, but BAD, experience.
Let me start by saying I usually enjoy this restaurant.
We were surprised that their prix fixe Valentine's Day menu grouped the appetizers and salad course together under "appetizer"; salads aren't appetizers - that's why there's a "salad" section on menus following the "appetizer" section. At $65 a pop it seemed a bit steep not to have the selection of both an appetizer and a salad.
The service was off and it wasn't that

I Just attended a memorial luncheon at the Vickers. The food was delicious I had the salmon, cooked perfectly. It came with a spring mix salad, Julianne sliced carrots with a butter sauce , roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus cooked just right For dessert they served a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and decorated the plate with a raspberry sauce. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back for another meal.

Vickers has been my family's annual Thanksgiving Day meal the past three years, and this year did not disappoint! Stepping into Vicker's makes you feel like you are stepping back in time to the 1700s. The elegant interior makes this restaurant perfect for a great special occasion!
On Thanksgiving, Vickers has a special menu with a wide variety of options that of course includes an option for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. I might be crazy but I did not order turkey on Thanksgiving! However, most of my family did and they really enjoyed it.

This inconsistent excuse for fine cuisine is finished in my book! Ruined our anniversary dinner with their poor quality cuisine. The Veal Vickers was absolutely horrid! Veal medallions were inedible. So tough and grisly they couldn't be cut or chewed! The reduction sauce was nothing more than Campbells Golden mushroom soup condensate dumped on top. The Dover sole fish was cooked fine and properly deboned table side but the sauce was nothing but over -floured white sauce. Needless to say, we didn't hang around for dessert and will never grace this high priced, low quality restaurant

Went there for thanksgiving. The food lacked taste, over priced and tasted like college cafeteria meal. Not sure what is going on but the good days of this tavern is behind them. I highly recommend a full redo of the whole restaurant changing to a more hip place vs catered to senior citizens.
Best of luck on your future as you will need it.

The Lowdown: FOOD IS VERY GOOD. A bit pricey, but comparable to most places.
Our waiter was meh....at best...but I still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I think that says a lot, how even crappy service couldn't damper the mood.
The live piano was a real treat and made the night much better. I had the Filet Mignon and I would have it again.
I would highly suggest this place if youre looking for a comfortable night out without loud crowds and such. You can have a nice conversation, with candle light. My Cocktail was great too.
My main sticking point is the price. It was just a lil

This was definitely an example of getting exactly what was expected.
Impeccable service, perfect food, great drink, I swear I felt just like a viking probably did after a nice long outing of pillage and plunder, without the concubines and debauchery, although there was a *highly* annebriated woman there who tried to leave in her BF's Audi...

The snow was high, the wind, unrelenting. My steed, Borak, was beginning to show signs of great fatigue. Just when I suspected his legs would falter, I spotted a waiving lantern through the wind-driven ice and snow. It was the maiden of the tavern - and she was beckoning me to a hot meal, a warm hearth and a hefty flagon of grog.
None of that happened, but that's what it feels like when you step into Vickers. You go back in time a little bit. A time where things moved a little slower, people spoke in hushed tones, and reality television had yet to be invented.

Good news first. I had a good mushroom flat bread. My wife had a nice bistro burger with blue cheese. Both plates presented well and tasted balanced, nicely done.
The down side was the service and atmosphere. When we arrived it was dark. No kidding, most of the lights were out at the bar. Neither my wife or I could read the menu it was so dark. Luckily, we had read the menu on line prior to our going.
The second downside was that the bartender did not have knowledge or good grasp of the menu. She attempted to do some small talk but it was clear she was not listening. She attempted to up the lighting
