Downtown Greensboro Animal Hospital is a full functioning animal hospital and we are proud to serve the Greensboro community and surrounding areas for their pet's needs. Our hospital is owned and run by Dr. John Wehe, who is a licensed veterinarian and experienced in small animals, exotics and avian care.
Dr. Wehe is a Greensboro native and a 2007 graduate of NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Wehe returned to Greensboro, with his family, to practice veterinary medicine. Over that time, he has developed an interest in small animal medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery and diagnostic ultrasound.
We are a full service animal hospital and are pleased to take appointments for the following services; Routine medical checkups and vaccines, dental and surgical procedures, radiology, ultrasound, laser therapy and more! Our appointment book is computerized and allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet.

My adventure cat Loki has always loved meeting new people and animals and never had a problem going to the vet. After a traumatic experience at a groomer we had been going to for over a year, we turned to our vet for his nail trims (my cat is secretly part eel). His first visit post-groomer was very stressful and he was visibly distressed when we got back to the car. Knowing what he had gone through at the groomer, I knew his reaction had nothing to do with this visit.

They are so kind and professional with my little Shichi Charlie. As soon as I pull in the parking lot and he sees where he is, his tail started wagging and he starts talking to me constantly until they come out and get him! This is the only veterinarian, that I have seen this kind of positive response from my pets. They have cared for 2 of my dogs and one cat and I was very satisfied with the results. I would recommend Downtown Animal Hospital to everyone!

I took a rabbit with an eye infection and Guinness Book nails and was so scared it'd have to be put down. Not only did they see me next day after calling ten other offices but the doctor was sure to assuage my fears and provide a care packet. Since then the bunny has been loving her strawberry flavored meds from Custom Care Pharmacy and learning to live inside and stretch herself out. It's a small office and the staff is great and everything is extremely comfy, like the most at ease I've ever been in a lobby/exam room.

Last year Dr. Wehe gave us a reason to be thankful at Thanksgiving removing a cyst from our guinea pig Venus and giving her a new lease on life. This year he gave us the best Christmas present by removing a stone from Circe which was causing much pain. She has recovered her enjoyment of running around madly and jumping on things. Needless to say, we are HUGE fans of Dr. Wehe and all the staff at downtown Greensboro Animal Hospital. Everyone is friendly and supportive while treating our 'girls' like family.
