I have been coming to this restaurant whenever I'm in town for business and the very last time I came I must say that I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the Buenos Aires and just like before it was tasty. Only this time I didn't get the other sauce to go with it. I would've enjoyed it much better than the last time however it was still good nonetheless. The carne was very well seasoned and the rice was tasty.
I ordered through a food delivery app and called the restaurant to see if they can seal my bag/food for delivery and luckily they did! They definitely provided great customer service

Nice atmosphere and music! "Q" was AMAZING! Friendly and happy to help make suggestions. The food is good but not as much flavor as I'm accustomed to for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. The mofongo was beautiful but not much flavor. Empanadas were OUTSTANDING! Will return to try something different.

I probably order from Spanglish once every week or two. The bowls are so filling. I've tried a few and have not been disappointed yet -
* the Southern Gentleman is their take on southern barbecue, and they knock it out of the park! Simple ingredients, but the sweet potato tots are SO addicting.
* Old Havana - if you're a meat eater, this isn't a bad choice. SO much meat. Sweet plantains are good too.
* however, my go-to remains the Dirty Dancing. You just can't beat their breaded eggplant, paired with sweet plantains

My friend and I really enjoyed our experience here. The restaurant is really cute inside. The employees were very friendly and the service was fast. I ordered a bowl and my friend ordered the Cuban sandwich and the queso frito. Everything was delicious. The meat was super tender and flavorful. I loved the plaintains. I especially loved the queso frito. I would definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I have been wanting to check out this place. So glad we did. We have recently gone vegan and was surprised that they had so many different options, including vegetarian and vegan. Not many places do! Their vegan cuban sandwhich was amazing! Who knew that jackfruit could taste so good.....obviously they did. The empanadas are done fresh to order and are soooo yummy. We will definitely be back.

This deserves 0 stars and I should get my $21 back for this pathetic meal! I just picked up this food and am totally disgusted with what I'm seeing. As you can see 2 of the empanadas burnt! The lighter one is not even done! It's all doughy in the middle, you can see the uneven color on the outside. The Cuban sandwich is no better with the meat all dry but the bread is sopping wet. How you do that?! Maybe whoever cooked this food needs to watch the movie, Chef, and find out how to make a Cuban sandwich! The tostones are super salty and you can see just how coated they are with that salty seasoning

Enjoyed a meal yesterday as we always have ! This was our 4th visit, (and in addition I had a catered meal for a $150 for my husbands birthday last weekend. )
But here's the kicker.. Yesterday, my husband lost his balance when getting out of a chair yesterday because the stupid chair was caught on the flooring. He almost fell to the floor and it caused a lot of commotion and noise. NOT ONE WORKER, SERVER, OR CHEF CHECKED ON US TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING!
Very disappointing ! Not sure if we can ever come again. I should have complained then, but we were sooooo shook up and upset that it wouldn

Damn, the food here is good.
The pernil is garlicky and moist. Everything else on the plate was also delicious (special sauce, mofongo--dry but good, maduros).
The guava and vanilla cream cheese empanada was gooey, tart, crunchy. Just a dream. The kind of food you think about for days and days. I will need to get another one of these soon, and try some of their other flavors.

Very delicious and— as it’s name suggests — unique fusion of Latin and contemporary American cuisine set in a stylish but laid back counter-service location. They offer a really yummy and filling breakfast with homemade sauces and ingredients. A tad bit on the pricy side but totally worth it. We ordered the garden sandwich, steak and eggs, pork belly and stuffed avocados… everything made to perfection. Highly recommended if you want good Latin food.. with a bit of a twist!

Clean, Spacious. Customer Friendly. Toast in 10 minutes. Cool art. Toast was delicious. But, Parking No bueno. The meters are busted and everyone has tickets. There are six spots and two are handicap right across from the city of Durham City Hall. I think it is awesome that no smoking is allowed in the sidewalks near this place.

I don't give out five stars easy but this place deserves it. The restaurant is so freaking adorable. It's colorful and inviting. It's located downtown so parking can be a little tricky. The food is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was good! Service is amazing, fast and accurate! We will be visiting soon!

This is a "must return here" restaurant. We came for breakfast end really enjoyed the home made taste you get from a small family owned place.
Although my eggs were a little over done, my ham, tater tots we're delish. My wife especially enjoyed her breakfast too, she said the bacon was really good.
My daughter had the garden breakfast, which though a stranger combo of mozzarella cheese and tomatoes with a fried egg. Also she said it was lacking "something" (maybe some kind of sauce) she finished it with a smile.
The coffee was good.

This is one of out favorite lunch spots! My coworkers and I usually order ahead and walk down to pick it up. If you're thirsty you can always grab something from the fridge when you get there. The food is always great and the vibe is always cool. Stop by if you're ever downtown!

Got to trying Spanglish via curbside pick up today! The online ordering was very simple and when I called from the curb, the staff was very friendly.
My husband ordered the Spanglish Cuban and a chicken empanada. I ordered the Dirty Dancing bowl and a bean empanada. I do wish the online ordering system had a section to note at the end to keep the meat empanada separate from the vegetarian one but there's was no seepage and that could be resolved by calling in. We both really enjoyed our choices - one of my eggplant pieces was burnt and the rice could have used a bit more flavor but overall

We ordered this via GrubHub today... amusingly, we found it because my wife wanted sweet potato tots, and I saw on Yelp that they had these and they delivered. GrubHub had a nice mix of breakfast and dinner options, but we opted for dinner ones. I ordered the Old Havana bowl-- with ropa vieja, beans, rice, maduros (sweet plantains), and avocado. My wife ordered the (vegan) jackfruit Cuban sandwich "La Revolucion" and the aforementioned sweet potato tots. My son got 3 empanadas.

I have not tried puerto rican food before now and I have to say it was pretty good I ordered the RDU to SJU and it was great. I liked the smoky flavor to the beans and the rice had a tomato flavor to them which wasn't bad. I actually like the beans and rice with the dish. The pork was good too, I wasn't sure about the sauce at first but it was tasty, it was sweet so it complimented the saltines of the pork. I would come back to order the same thing or something different. I was craving this same meal the other day.

The dirty dancing bowl was much larger than I expected it to be, so I couldn't finish it in one sitting. But that just means leftovers for dinner! Everything was so tasty, especially the fried eggplant.
And the empanadas!!!!!! I barely have words to describe how good they were. I'm already dreaming of the next time I can buy Spanglish's empanadas
