In 1946, Robert E. and the late Jacqueline D. Bean moved to Reading from Lebanon County. Robert quickly found his first job as a funeral director, but was soon drafted to serve in the Korean War. After serving as an Artillery Sergeant, Robert returned to Reading only to find that his job had been taken by someone else.

This location is very beautiful and spacious, as well as quiet and peaceful - a place for families to share feelings and reflect.

The two story early-colonial structure was constructed in 1802 as a farmhouse, and was used through the years as a private school for boys and girls known as the Charter Oak Academy.
