Lewis Funeral Home is a family owned business that has been serving the community for over 100 years. The firm operated as "Frank E. Lewis, Funeral Director" until 1947 when a partnership was formed with Vernon E. Larremore and the firm name was changed to Lewis Funeral Home. In 1960, Frank E. Lewis passed away and the business became a sole proprietership under the leadership of the late Vernon E. Larremore.
In 2011, his wife, Mrs. Lois C. Washington took over operations and is presently the firm's President and General Manager. She is assisted by a staff of experienced employees.

The Lewis Funeral Home has been a tradition in San Antonio for a century. The fact that any business is able to weather the economic storms for 100 years is remarkable, but it is a historic achievement for a Black-owned business to last that long and nearly unheard of to have ownership of a business remain in the same family for that long a period.

She was delivered by her paternal grandmother, Lizoria Caldwell, and was the third of eight children. She grew up in a close and loving nuclear family, as well amongst an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Faye accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of Greater St. Paul Baptist Church of Brazoria, Texas.

Not gonna lie they have amazing services, great hospitality and try to work with you every step of the way, I loved the calm environment it is, the only negative thing is about how they presented my mom for the funeral services, her face color didn’t match with the rest of her body, it was quite upsetting to see her one last time the way she was...
