Southside Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. It has been owned and operated by Dr. Joyce A Heideman DVM since 1991. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Dr. joyce is a 1986 graduate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked as an Associate at Southside Animal Hospital for 5 years when it was Benson Animal Hospital. Dr. Joyce purchased Benson Animal Hospital and renamed it Southside Animal Hospital in 1991. Dr. Joyce is a proud member of AVMA, MVMA and Pawsitive Impact for Pets (PIP).

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Urgent/Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. For your convenience, 'drop off' appointments are available.
