My experience has been very similar to the other poster about the exotics department and her bunnies. I have a lot of anger and pain associated withthis clinic. I wish they would take responsibilty, and give some sort of restitution. but that will never happen. i do not recommend

I will NEVER go here again! The vet I tried to talk to, but ended up getting yelled at that my puppy may die or have seizures, needs some customer service. I definitely don’t appreciate spending A lot of money somewhere that treats me like garbage. The same points she was trying to make could have been expressed in a much different way and they could have kept a customer! Don’t go here unless you want to be disrespected and pay an arm and a leg. Worst veterinary experience ever.

The only vet near Salt Lake County that was able to see my dog for a deep bite wound on a Sunday night. They took him in right away with their curbside check-in to reduce COVID spread, the vet answered my questions over the phone about best case and worst case scenarios and price estimates, and we were able to take him home cleaned up and stapled a couple hours later. I'm grateful they were able to take care of him!

I'd like to thank the staff that helped me with my dog Chewy. They were very caring and showed a lot of sympathy towards me at such a hard time with the situation of having to put my dog Chewy to sleep. They also sent a card to my house with such caring words. My family and I appreciate everything they did.

It saddens me to write this review because Mtn. West used to have an amazing exotics department with Dr. Laura Boehler at the helm. Now that Dr. Boehler is no longer at Mountain West and Dr. Bahan rarely works there, I cannot recommend going to Mountain West for emergencies, especially for exotics. The first time I used the exotics department last… spring, I was impressed with the care I received for my rabbit. The tech I worked with, Jess, spent almost an hour going over proper rabbit care and answering my questions. When my rabbit developed an abscess and stopped eating, I went straight

We had a wonderful experience with mountain west hospital for our sweet, old dog. We had to take her in on an emergency and Ryan was so helpful from the beginning. Dr Kara was so compassionate, understanding and provided calm assurance that what we were doing for our dog by euthanizing her was the right and humane thing to do. It’s always a tough situation and both Ryan and Dr Kara helped us with every step!
I will recommend all pet owners that i know to go to mountain west animal hospital!

I brought my cat in today because she was having neurological problems. They took my cat in around 20 minutes after I got here. I asked them about how long it would take. They said 35 minutes at the most (per Ryan). After 2 hours I was very anxious and called into the office. They told me the doctor would call me in 10 minutes. It took her 20 minutes to call back and she didn’t have an exact diagnosis. I asked for them to keep it under 200 dollars, a visit and blood work was more than that. (Picture of my sweetie)

I was very upset and emotional due to a miscommunication, but the clinic manager Jeri called me and made sure my baby Bambam was going to get what he needed. She went above and beyond to help me and exceeded my expectations. I really just needed to replace 2 tablets of a nausea medication he vomited, his regular vet couldn't get him in until… Monday, and she made sure I got it even though the emergency vet he saw wasn't there. I thought I was going to be forced to take him into the ER again, but she came through and I really hope he continues to improve. Thank you Mountain West!

Worst vet I’ve ever been to. 1 star just because they’re not my usual vet. My Aussie has some mouth issues (bleeding gums, kept pawing at her mouth, trying to chew something out of her teeth, wouldn’t eat). My vet was understaffed and booked for the day so I went here. Never have I ever been to a clinic with such lack of communication and direction, lack of explanation and procedures, and lack of responsible doctors. After leaving my puppy here for 3 hours and having over 5+ confusing phone calls, I announced I would be coming to get my puppy and didn’t care if she was ready or not. Once

We came in today for my kids pet hamster. “Hammy”.
She suddenly became ill. We had called around to multiple different vets and none could help us. Mountain west vet told us to come in right away. From where we live it was a 45 minute drive and when we got there, we were helped right away. Friendly staff. We unfortunately ended up having to put Hammy to sleep. 😭 They we’re very helpful and simpathetic. Thank you for helping us threw this difficult time. Would definitely come back.

My dog got hit by a car Saturday night August 7th and this place saved my dogs life. Not only did they save her life but she had to be transferred to another vet for surgery and had the other vet place make her night stay affordable until I can get the loan to pay for her surgery. I am forever grateful they did this for my baby girl. They really take amazing care of the animals. While I was waiting to see my dog I ended up talking to a vet waiting to get inside and you could tell how much he cares for animals. These people take amazing care of your animals and they take amazing care of us people

This is a very amazing hospital! My poor puppy got hit buy my son on his dirtbike. they said it was the worst spinal injury they had ever seen. They said there was a 50-50 chance that she would walk again. She is now standing and walking a little bit and we're only a month out. Your st is awesome and they check up and give you all the information that you need !

I have visited mountain west veterinary specialists on two separate occasions with two different dogs. Both times my experience was excellent. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful and were very caring with… my dogs. As stressful as visiting an emergency veterinarian can be, they do everything in their power to make the experience as comfortable as possible. I was informed about everything that was going on while my pet was in their care. Everyone I came in contact with, from the receptionist, to the technicians, to the veterinarian herself, was reassuring and professional. It is clear

We have had to take our Hannah here twice in the last couple of months and both times they were just outstanding with her and with us. The communication and customer service are top notch, the staff all are… very professional and make you feel like your animal is the most important one they are treating. Hannah had to have her foot bandaged and they put the cutest little flower in heart on her bandage just touched my heart.

Everyone who needs vet care go to Mountain West. I was referred to them by another facility who was not only unable to take care of my dog but were also charging me $187 MORE to do the exact same work up.
My dog has a very serious disease and thanks to these vets/vet techs, she has made a full recovery!!
I was very pleased with this clinic. I have been to other ER vet clinics who are extremely understaffed and have no care for our furry babies. They just want to get them in and out with wallets open. IF YOU ARE WITHIN RANGE AND CAN HEAR ME, GO TO MOUNTAIN WEST!!!
Best ever.

While we didn't get the outcome we wanted, the staff was amazing. They were in constant contact with us and seemed to love our baby as much as we did. We came here for a second opinion and as unfortunate as that opinion was, it helped us to end the suffering of our sweet boy. Thank you to everyone for all your compassion and patience with us. You gave us the answers to all our questions and time we needed to process everything.

GO HERE. I'd give them 1,000 stars if I could cause they deserve them all! This our preferred clinic but they were super busy on the night we needed to take our dog in for a deep laceration on his paw. Looking back it was a big mistake. Hindsight is 20/20, right? And costly. I like details when making these types of decisions so here you go.

Quick back story for comparison. The "other" vet took SIX hours, did not communicate at all and WE had to call THEM, twice. They did not wrap the wound and I don't think they even properly stitched it. Took bloodwork, put him under and

Great emergency vet! I have been to A LOT of vets. Pretty much every vet in the valley as I own a busy dog training and boarding facility. And of course most things that happen, happen when our regular vet is closed. Many of the negative reviews complain about the wait time but for an emergency vet I thought these guys were really fast! I only had to wait an hour! Most other emergency vets you are looking at 2 hours minimum. I've even had to wait 6 hours at a pet er before. The staff and doctors at Mountain West were super helpful and friendly. Everything went really streamlined and having

Horribly impolite staff & very unprofessional all around. Waited for four hours just for them to send my dog out with eye drops. Exact words from them on the phone were "this is just a pet hospital". Also tried to persuade us into a blood work panel for our dog which most certainly wasn't necessary. An institution which seems to operate solely to squeeze the life out of your pet and your wallet.
