I am a licensed mental health therapist and career counselor who has worked for 20 years helping people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, down, depressed and anxious. I believe that I have helped clients improve their quality of life and to thrive not just survive. I help people strive for mental wellness and to take back their lives.
In counseling, I help you explore the situation at hand, and sort through your options, so you can make the best possible decisions. Counseling can help you create a long term strategy and calculate your opportunity costs for career choices. If you feel like you are surviving not thriving, you might also feel like you've tried everything, and don't know what to do next.
When you suffer from a lack of joy and motivation, or from anxiety, it can be exhausting to face each day and get out of bed. You want help but you don't know where to begin. There is so much stress around you that you feel your world is spinning and you have no control. You feel stuck and immobilized.
Lack of assertiveness can make you feel like you don't have a voice and that others overlook you. That can lead to low self esteem and a belief that you'll never get your needs met. Being unable to speak up for yourself might be causing you to over- commit to parents, friends or managers. And that can trigger feelings of anxiety, anger, resentment and being overwhelmed when someone makes a simple, innocent request.
