Thompson Rose Chapel is an independent family owned funeral home and has been serving families in Sacramento and surrounding counties since 1948. Presently, many funeral homes are owned by corporate conglomerates or are managed by a board of directors not associated with the funeral service; Thompson Rose Chapel has to answer only to the families it serves.

Thompson Funeral Home was established in 1948 by Vincent "Ted" Thompson. Its original location was on 7th street in downtown Sacramento. The current facility was built in the Oak Park section of Sacramento and opened its doors in 1957. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Thompson relocated to Sacramento in 1940 and set out to use his science background to become a mortician.
At Thompson Rose Chapel, our families come first, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. We can create a customized, online memorial for you to share with family and friends. The memorial includes the obituary and any photographs you wish to provide.

Yesterday was my best friend funeral. When we first got there they was bring the casket in the guy who was pushing him in was so rough he was just like banging it all side to side didn't even try to be careful with it that was strike one to me straight too was the staff
The staff are very unprofessional it's was the older black guy . That told you where to sit and where to walk .not sure what his name was but was very very rude and unkind. Thought that was very unprofessional in times like this we need comfort not ruinous it's bad enough we have to be there to say goodbye to our loved one that

This place is the most unprofessional funeral home I have had the unfortunate displeasure to work with. They are rude and involve themselves in family drama that they know nothing about. So disrespectful while dealing with my mothers death. I see why my fathers side of the family uses Morgan and Jones. I changed my last arrangements in my will to have have Morgan and Jones handle my services. That’s how bad Thompson’s service is.

My mother and Sister were handled by Thompson's Rose Chapel. The staff were very professional both times in our time of need.They made me and my family fell very comfortable in my time of need. The staff are terrible and don't listen to families. They repeatedly lose paperwork and made many mistakes where it took months to get monies back from family members policies because the incompetence of the group.
It is hard enough to deal with the losing a loved one. Ginger is rude and incompetent.
It hard when having to deal with the incompetence of this group.
Do not do business with Thompson Funeral home they provide terrible service.

Please don't pick this funeral home. They don't respect family wishes. It was a hard time dealing with the death of my father and this funeral home allowed people in when I told them they were not invited. Please avoid this funeral home at all cost. Don't waste your money on them. They make difficult situations worst.
