Chapel Of The Valley
Chapel of the Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, would like to extend its warmest welcome and appreciation in being able to serve the families in Roseville, we also serve the Placer and Sacramento County communities. Our business is family owned and operated, which means our attention is focused on you.

Since 1931, we have provided the kind of service that families come back to in the time of need. The professional staff at Chapel of the Valley Cremation and Funeral Care is committed to providing dignified, respectful and compassionate assistance to every family. Your family is unique, and our staff provides personalized assistance to create a meaningful service that respects the life and memory of your loved one.
Services
Chapel of the Valley is owned and operated by a third generation funeral director. My grandfather Guerdon Herberger became a funeral director in 1931 and my father Robert Herberger became a funeral director in 1969, when he began working with my grandfather. It is a privilege to carry this special heritage forward.
Every family is different - with their own sets of beliefs, customs, and traditions. At Chapel of the Valley, we know that each family requires special attention to ensure that their wishes are met. Our goal is to listen, provide you with information, and carry out your requests. No need or wish is too big or small for our families.
Simply put, Cremation is the accelerated reduction of the remains to "ash" through the process of heat and fire. While cremation is a simpler and often less expensive choice than burial, many of the same or similar options are still available. There is no rush to schedule services (unless a funeral is chosen where the body will be present).
When death occurs, one of the first decisions that must be made is whether to bury or cremate. There are many factors that go into making this choice. If the family has traditionally chosen burial in previous generations, they may choose earth burial, particularly if the family owns plots together in a local cemetery.
What kinds of options are available for your loved one's funeral? Why do you need an obituary notice? What are funeral homes responsible for? What is involved in embalming? Should you choose burial or cremation? How much does a funeral cost? These are just a few of the questions we hear every day from people just like you, and below, you'll find the answers.

Thank you for the wonderful and caring service. We weren’t able to get in to see you in a timely manner and you came up with a great solution that was so very helpful to us. I appreciate the extra effort. I was anxious as I have never done this before and expected the worse. But, you all made everything so convenient and smooth. I would definitely recommend your services to my friends and family. Thank you again and have a blessed New Year.

Chapel of the Valley was extremely helpful with the arrangements for my dad. They helped us find a suitable casket, that our Marine Corps Veteran dad would have approved of. They were very respectful to our family and set up the burial at the National Cemetery for us. With the help from Chapel of the Valley, my mom felt so much relief knowing our dad, was having an honorable respectful service and burial. Thank you again for all the assistance. Had service here today for my friend. And I thought at 1st they were pretty professional here until I heard one of the staff members say out loud "I hope this gets over soon. I need to pick up my kids". Ok great. I understand that. However, say that behind closed doors. Not in front of the ppl who are there for service. And the guy greeting everyone walking in. Wouldn't allow my friends husband to go in there and see here. He said her daughter's 1st. If that's what was requested. Fine. I can request that. However, he could have been a little bit nicer and not so rude. For heaven sakes. He just

IS IT COMMON FOR YOU TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2 AND WAIT AN HOUR?
IS IT COMMON TO SPELL THE NAMES WRONG ON A DEATH CERTIFICATE?
WE HAD HORRIBLE AND VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE WITH ROSA. THE PAMPHLET SHE HAD SENT TO US, THAT WAS WHAT THE HECK? IT MADE NO SENSE AT ALL READING IT. MY MOTHER DIED 2 YEARS EARLIER YOU PUT ENTERED INTO REST
HOW MANY WORDS WERE SPELLED WRONG UNBELIEVABLE. THE ONE WE RECEIVED, SAID "ENTERED INTO" AND NOTHING FOLLOWING, SO IF NOT ENTERING INTO SOMEWHERE NICE PLEASE IMAGINE HOW WE THEN INTERPRETED THAT AND HOW HURTFUL IT WAS TO LEAVE OUT THE WORD REST/PEACE, ECT

My mother’s service was held here May 25, 2018. The caring and compassion from the staff was 5 stars plus! Jody was attentive to my family and I and made sure my mother’s final farewell was what she wanted! I can’t thank him enough for making a time of grief as easy as possible. I would recommend them to anyone who has a loved one that has passed.

Attended a service here today. The gentleman that works here did such a great job officiating. He didn't have to read from a script, had a clear, strong voice and did not preach on and on. The establishment had comfortable seating . Not enough parking spaces though.

In the last week I've spent a lot of time with Craig and his staff. I have so much respect for all of them. Every detail was handled with the utmost honor and respect for our very large family. Craig ensured that we were all always taken care and accommodated literally 24/7. Thank you to Chapel of the Valley I can't thank you all enough!
