We took our bulldog Sadie in to Gentle Care because she was having a lot of pain in her foot. The staff was very accommodating and super friendly during her first visit. Dr.Chris was amazing with her and did a great job explaining the diagnosis and provided a solution that helped the same day. We've been to other vets in the Edmond area multiple times, over the last 15 years, but the love and attention at gentle care is unmatched!

Do not take your animals here! I took my 2 dogs to get their vaccines updated and they fed them beggin bacon and some other cheap crap that is terrible for dogs the whole time we were there just to give them a couple of shots. I dropped them off at home and when I came back from work it caused them to have diarrhea and vomit all over the living room. Then today I take my dog to get a nail trim they said would be $15. I held him so they could trim his nails and they charged me $25 because they had to use restraint??? I was holding him and it only took one vet tech to do the job. Then when I talked

I showed up for my 3:30 appt and was told my appointment started at 3pm and I needed to leave and reschedule. When I pushed back with the proof I was told 3:30 Dr Chris yelled at me for being inconsiderate of their time and that i had two dogs with 2 appointment times. I never received an email confirmation. He offered to let me sit in my car outside and wait. I declined after their behavior. I texted him my information and received the below communication. After 8 years of loving Dr Chris and Gentle Care we are forced to leave after this behavior.

I called for a quote on a procedure for my dog and they were more expensive than the rest but I decided to try to kennel my dog there because they are close to my house and the facilities look nice. I was surprised with an extra $125 in fees!!!
They let me know the fees (nightly rate) up front but then when I called a week before my trip which was during the holidays. My dog has all of her normal yearly shots but I heard the automated voice while on hold say they required flu shots for all animals boarding. Which costs an extra $50. Dr. Chris saved my dog. He not only stayed after hours to give her emery surgery that saved her life, he also came in at 3am to check on her!
Dr. Chris also saved us between $1,800 to 2,300 on the surgery over the emergency vet. And he's been following up on her progress ever since and been extremely available to answer any questions we have.

I wish there was an option for zero stars! I scooped my elderly dog out of my swimming pool yesterday and my neighbor rushed me to the nearest open vet, which happened to be Gentle Care. We tried calling two others in my area but one was already closed and the other had relocated nowhere near me. When we arrived at Gentle Care, we called the number on the front door (due to Covid), and Mason answered and came to the door. We've been taking our Standard Poodle Violet to Gentle Care since she came home with us on May 25. We have also had to Board her. Dr. Matt and the staff are always pleasant and caring toward her. I always know what to expect when I take her for an appointment, and understand everything before we leave.
As retired military, I could take her to the Vet on Tinker and would spend quite a bit less money, but she wouldn't get the time and attention she does here!

Dr. Rispoli is the best. His care and investment in our pets is outstanding. He has a busy practice, but will do everything he can to make sure your pet baby is well taken care of and treated quickly! I love his compassion for his work and pet owners. I feel so very supported by him and cannot imagine going anywhere else!!

This vet is above and beyond any other very I have ever used. Dr Chris and Baker both are loving and kind. They have gone ouT of their way to help me with my baby Titan when he got sick. They responded to me on a weekend when I needed them. I will never take another of my animals anywhere but here! Thank you all for actually caring about my pets.

At the end of the day, their prices are not worth it particularly given the quality of care. I gave them repeated chances to help our pug with a skin problem, and they never got it right. They finally referred us a dermatologist who, despite the acute nature of our dog's problem, told us we couldn't be seen for at least two weeks.
So, we called our old vet in Bethany (Agape Pet Clinic). They got us in THAT day and were able to quickly identify multiple treatment and testing options to deal with the problem. Moreover, that same-day appointment -

EXCELLENT IN EVERY REGARD.
Beautiful clinic facility, to boot -- clean, bright, cheery, spacious, and well lighted.
The clinic's way far north, and so is probably perfect for those who live in Deer Creek, Edmond, and far north Oklahoma City.
Dr. Chris Rispoli himself is extremely compassionate and highly personable, and his bedside manner in general could not be finer.
Most rates are clearly listed, and are around average for the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

Frankie has always gotten extreme anxiety as soon as we walk in the door of any vet, but the staff at Gentle Care take such good care of him that he calms down quickly. They are also great about protecting my wallet. They go over the cost and need for each vaccination or procedure. And unlike other vets, they never recommend unnecessary medication or procedures. We have had Bad vet experiences with his former doctor, but Dr. Chris, Dr. Heather, and the staff have been nothing but amazing. They are also very LGBTQ friendly and support the community in more ways than I can count - even down to their

The staff is super sweet and I love that they never seemed to do unnecessary procedures. Our Golden has been scarred from a previous vet clinic that would perform rectal temps no matter the reason you were coming in. Gentle Care truly was gentle and compassionate with our dogs.
BUT.. since I am in the medical field, I wanted to give some insight so this office can learn from their mistakes.

Gentle Care Animal Hospital
We have been going to Dr. Chris for the last two years. I feel confident with putting my animals health care in his hands. He gave me his cell number to check in with him if I have any questions. Is kindness and compassion is amazing. I wish my healthcare provider could provide that kind of care for my family. He is the best. Strongly recommend.
