Good luck getting an appointment when you desperately need one. They are perennially overbooked and, one assumes, understaffed. Expect weeks-long waits just to see a vet tech. And, though it probably goes without saying, be assured you’ll be paying the absolute most money for the poorest experience imaginable.

Absolutely love the care Fuji receives at Back Bay Vet. The staff is incredibly kind and responsive, always checking in via email and text. The veterinarians are also wonderfully present and do their best to explain what is happening and the appropriate next course of action. I also always appreciate how calm everyone is because sometimes the process and visits can be scary. A wonderful team to entrust our dog's care into.

This place is amazing! I never came here before because it's on Newbury Stand I assumed it would be really expensive. I have found that it is no more expensive that anywhere else. Wish I have come here sooner!
The receptionists, vet techs, and vets are all really nice. Also, the communication is great. They always follow up the next day to see how my kitty is doing! I really appreciate that. They are also always on time and their office is very nice.
Two thumbs/paws up!

Such a great place, there was an issue with my dogs skin that I wasn’t sure if it warranted a vet appointment. I emailed them pictures asking and they got back to me within an hour telling me what they think it may be and symptoms to watch out for. They squeezed me in the next morning for the vet to look at him when there was no availability till next week and got him on antibiotics instantly. They also make the dogs feel so comfortable and dont get annoyed if you have a super hyper dog like some other places. Best vet I’ve been to yet!

I have two dogs who I've taken here since they were puppies. The staff and vets have always been extremely friendly and communicative with us.
While I was on a road trip, my dog got an ear infection and the out-of-state vet who we saw gave us medicine we had to put in his ears daily and it really scared and upset him. Back Bay Vet a year later, when my dog got an ear infection again, however, saw that he's fussy about his ears and gave him the medicine in the clinic that lasts 10 days and means I don't have to corner him at home and cause him distress every day.

My family found Back Bay Veterinary Clinic toward the end of our dogs life, but we are incredibly grateful we did. In our 15 years with our pup, we have never experienced such compassionate, professional, considerate, individualized, and wonderful care for our dog. The veterinarians and staff at Back Bay, especially Dr. Kristian Sorbo, are all extremely attentive, courteous, caring, kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and will give you and your pet the time you need to address your concerns, often times going the extra mile to ensure you have the answers you need. They were especially helpful in giving

I have been very pleased with Back Bay Vet's care for my cat Teddy! All of the staff and doctors are supportive and informative. I trust the doctors with Teddy and they recently did a great job with his dental cleaning. As a new cat mom, I was very nervous about being away from Teddy for the whole day. But everyone at the clinic was reassuring and the day went better than expected. I appreciate all everyone at the clinic does and their customer service is awesome (they even give check ins after or between visits)!

Been coming to BBVC for years with my elderly cat. She’s got some kidney disease and has had a few other medical issues over the years. She’s seen probably every vet in the practice at this point and nearly every tech. Everyone is very attentive and thorough. They’ve had some new vets join over the last couple years and they’re great too. They listen to the pet parent’s concerns and let you know your options bearing in mind cost and stress in your let and possible outcomes. You can tell they really care about the animals they work with. They follow up after visits to see how things are

We love Dr. Carey and the whole BBVC team. They’ve done an amazing job taking care of our puppy. We would highly recommend them!
They’ve always been attentive, flexible when scheduling appointments and are great at following up. We love how helpful/responsive Dr. Carey has been to our questions. Our pup had some GI issues early on and they helped get him on the road to recovery ASAP.

Back bay vet takes wonderful care of my puppy. They are very accommodating despite being very busy, and they always have the most friendly staff. All of the veterinarians we have seen have always been very patient with my many questions as a new dog mom, and they have always made me feel very confident in their care.

What a wonderful group of animal lovers! I've brought my dog here for almost two years now and I must say the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and caring. I never feel like they rush through check ups and they always allow time for me to ask questions. There's no other place I'd rather bring my pup!

If you want take a chance on being gouged with a whole lot of unnecessary tests, misdiagnosis' and being taken advantage as a worried pet owner, then this is the place for you.
I brought my cat here as a first time customer on an emergency visit due to excessive drooling and the fact she wasn't eating or drinking. Backbay veterinary was the only place I could find open and able to see my cat the same day. I explicitly indicated that her symptoms seemed to indicate something was in her mouth so, start by looking there. After dropping her off, I recieve a call sometime later from Dr

Best vet ever!!! They are so attentive and caring!!! My dog had done a heart ultrasound in Brazil because she was diagnosed with a heart murmur and other vets didn't want to refill her meds for me when I got back to the US because they said the ultrasound was in Portuguese even though all they needed to see was the imagery to know what was wrong. Other vets wanted to charge me hundreds for another ultrasound. Not back bay though!!!They were so accommodating!!! Not just this time, but every time I need them!!!When I ran out of meds on another trip they quickly emailed me a new prescription

If you have so much money and you don't know what to do with it .. sure ! You will love this clinic. Otherwise, find your pet a clinic that actually cares about animals not money and save yourself the troubles.
My cat had a lesion on her abdomen. Instead of prescribing antibiotic and treat the most common/probable cause for skin lesions they told me they need to do some blood works that will cost me more, to see if she has an increase in her "eosinophils" . I said no, and I got her OTC antibiotic and she recovered within days and shE was fine. 2 weeks after that, I took her again

I'm new to the area and Back Bay Veterinary has been a god send for my miniature golden doodle, Maisie! They've made her transition from our old vet in Maryland so smooth and always provide the highest standard of care.
Prices are kind of steep, but in my opinion the awesome team, flexible hours and great location/facility is all worth it. My pup has a really sensitive stomach and while we were trying to figure out the cause they recommended a few different diets I could try before making us go through a series of expensive tests, which to me is a sign of a vet you can trust.
