Waters-Powell Funeral Home

Waters-Powell Funeral Home, founded in 1893, has a history almost as long as that of the city of Florence. In 1932, the furniture store operation was separated from the funeral home. Waters Funeral Home was moved to a residence at the corner of Pine and Dargan Streets and remodeled for use as a funeral home and featured, as an innovation, a convertible chapel with removable partitions so that it could be enlarged.

Staff members of Waters-Powell Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Charlie began his career in 1959 with Waters Funeral Home as an ambulance driver and apprentice funeral director.

Located in historic downtown Florence, South Carolina, Waters-Powell Funeral Home offers centrally-located, comfortable and spacious facilities for the convenience of our families and friends. Our chapel seats over 150 guests with additional seating in our family area. We offer two visitation suites for a comfortable setting to receive friends.
