Other days, you feel so numb that your racing heart would be a welcome reminder that you're still alive. It can be hard to navigate your day, feeling this anxious, overwhelmed, and untethered, watching your responsibilities, commitments, and emotions swirl around you in the funnel cloud that has become your existence.

You don't trust that many people would understand, and because you're functioning adequately in the roles you have in your family, work, and relationships, no one has any idea how much you're struggling. You're feeling alone and don't feel convinced that speaking up and being visible in this way is a good idea.

You've hit the wall. You can't do anymore, can't manage your stress, and can't imagine struggling like this for the rest of your life. Things are so unpleasant and uncomfortable that you know you need help, but don't know where to look or who can provide what you need. You can't go back to when you were happier, and you can't move forward like this.
Occasional anxiety is an expected part of life. You might feel anxious when faced with a problem at work, before taking an exam, or when faced with an important decision. You may have physical symptoms such as difficulty breathing or headaches from anxiety. It can feel like stress, nervousness, a feeling of impending doom or even perfectionism.
College can be an exciting and positive experience, but many students don't feel they're well prepared for such a significant step. Once at college, they understandably feel overwhelmed, due to the social and academic pressures, as well as the challenges of living independently and navigating life with a much smaller-or sometimes distant-support system.
Ready or not, we all go through numerous transitions in our lives that we don't always know how to navigate - leaving high school to go to college or work, grieving the loss of a loved one, changing jobs, getting married, having children, getting divorced, or retiring. Life transitions can cause uncomfortable emotional spaces in which we have cut ties with the familiar and have not quite acclimated to our new circumstances.
Raising children significantly impacts any family's dynamic, and sometimes comes with difficulty. Babies and toddlers require new parents to adjust to a whole new life, while children and teens present other, equally challenging issues requiring flexibility, adaptation and change in the family setting.
