Do you need to repair your European or other import car? Lydell Motors at 400 State Street in North Haven has specialized in those vehicles since 1953. Present owner, Mark Lydell took over Lydell Motors from his father in 1983. It was around then they were chosen as a certified Bosch Service Center Pilot Program.
To furnish an itemized invoice for fairly priced parts and services which clearly identifies any used or re-manufactured parts. Replaced parts may be inspected upon request. To recommend corrective and maintenance services, explaining to the customer which of these are required to correct existing problems and which are for preventive maintenance.
I have brought my car here for the last 3 years and have always been very happy with the service provided. They are very thorough and provide complete detail on services and diagnostics performed. The guys were awesome mounting and balancing my winter tires and I was in and out for less than other tire shops with a substantially better job done! There is absolutely no vibration at any speed. Car feels great with its new shoes on!

I’ve used Lydell Motors for a few years now for suspension installs as well as mounting/balancing tires. These guys are extremely professional, always on time, and have never put even the smallest scratch on my expensive wheels. I highly recommend them.

Great service. Brought 2 cars there for a presale inspection and the first one passed their criteria and just needed a small amount of work. I bought that car and they repaired the what needed fixing and the car ran amazing. The second car they said was a no go, and pointed out all the things wrong even noticing there must’ve been some sort of water damage to the car. They advised me not to buy the car and saved me a ton of money in buying a lemon. Their service isn’t Greatly appreciated and highly recommended!

Brought my car is and told them I knew that the problem was the ABS module and it had to be fixed be either trying to repair the part due to a false connection or just replacing the whole part if needed. I clearly explain that the ABS module was the problem. 2 days go by with no calls so I decided to give them a call myself. I was returning from a business trip when my '08 A6 wouldn't start. I was 3 1/2 hours from home. I used Google to search for a non-dealer repair shop and I found Lydell Motors who specialize in European cars. Jim, my initial contact, couldn't have been more helpful. I had my car towed to Lydell after they closed for the day. By 10:30 the following day I was able to finish the return trip home. I got my brakes serviced at Lydell Motors 2 weeks ago and now my brakes are still keeping the same scrubbing noise I had when I originally brought the car in to be repaired. I am quite disappointed because this company had so many 5 stars and I was pleased with the reviews. Now I feel as though I was taken advantage of and mislead about the good work that the reviews showed. It is a shame when you spend $200 and the brakes were not repaired and now I have to have the same job serviced again at another company and pay more money for a job that should have been done right in the first place. I brought my car here to have four tires mounted, balanced and installed along with all four wheels aligned. I spoke with Mark a few days before to set up a time to come in. I arrived around 8:30 a.m. the day he told me to come in, handed over my keys and left. I called around 1 p.m. to ask if the car was done and he said it would be a couple of hours. I did not get the car back until 4:30 p.m. It took an entire business day for them to do a job that should take more than two hours. Lydell Motors looks out for their customers, plain and simple. After getting tire work done on my car, my vehicle broke down in their parking lot when I was driving it away. They took my car in, and even with no openings the rest of the week, they managed to troubleshoot and repair my car within 3 days. Mark, the owner, always picks up the phone and is incredibly patient. His technicians certainly know what they're doing and I won't hesitate bringing my precious Audi there in the future. They're extremely knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect!
I honestly wouldn't take my car anywhere else and I live nearly 90 minutes away.

During an oil change they inspect my cars in detail and have alerted me to issues long before they become a problem. Their tire mounting and balancing is best I've encountered. Their diagnostic equipment and software is the most current and up to date. They use the finest synthetic lubricants and OEM parts. Many of Lydell Motor's customers have over 200,000 miles, due to his meticulous care. His customers won't take them anywhere else.
