Tammy Valenti is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. She has earned 4 college degrees, the 4th being in Funeral Services from St Petersburg College. She performed her funeral directing internship in Bradenton. She honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and Army National Guard for a total of 12 years, stationed on military bases around the world.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
As an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Armed Services you and your spouse are entitled to several benefits. The first benefit is the availability for burial in any National Cemetery at no expense for any cemetery charges to you or your family.

This includes your choice for both the Veteran and Spouse of either a grave space for the burial of a casket or urn, or if available at the cemetery of your selection a niche to hold your cremated remains.Also included is the opening and closing of the grave space or niche, a concrete grave liner to hold the casket in the ground, and a marker or niche front.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
