Dr. Craig Lowrie graduated from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. When he was there he took extra courses on treating dentally anxious patients and learned new techniques for giving pain free anesthetic. He moved to Alaska with his wife and two children where he bought Advanced Family Dentistry from his predecessor and mentor Dr. Christensen.

From the receptionist to the dental tech and doctor, what an experience. So kind communicative and funny. I showed up 20 minutes before my appointment and got in early. Also first shot I’ve ever received that was painless. Great numbing techniques. Best dental practice I’ve ever been to. Very professional. 110% recommend.

I don't know anyone who is a fan of visiting the dentist, and you don't either. However, at some point you have to go -whether for preventative maintenance or because of something more emergent.
The point is, since you have to go anyway...go to Advanced Family Dentistry. This is the only dentist's office I've ever visited that ACTIVELY TRIED TO SAVE ME MONEY. I was advised to purchase a cheap dental savings plan before my appointment (100 bucks), which within 24 hours has saved me about 2000 dollars over the course of my treatment plan.

Worst experience I have ever had with a dentist office. The hygienist was ruse and accusatory, assuming she knew about your teeth better than I did. I had billing issues from my first appointment, as they didn't bill my insurance until I began calling them. I had fillings replaced, that were only partially removed leaving pieces of my previous fillings in my mouth. Then was told I needed 2 crowns 6 months after they replaced the fillings. My crown they did place had poor margins, and when I mentioned it, they said it was fine. I was reevaluated by another dentist and told by other hygienists, they

Friendly. But I recommend going somewhere else. I had a root canal done on my very back molar here. That dentist never even mentioned having a crown done. After that root canal, I decided to follow my instincts and go to a different dentist. Well I ended up having that root canal redone by an endodontist and then a beautiful crown placed on that very back molar by my new dentist. This old dentist here also filled a cavity on my number 4 tooth. Well, what do you know, when my new dentist took extensive x-rays, they found a HUGE cavity in number 4. That same tooth that this old dentist supposedly

Great dentist and staff! It's true that the office isn't filled with the super fancy bells and whistles of some offices, but they also don't up-sell you or have a bunch of hidden fees. So if you need the office with it's own espresso bar, massaging chair, and virtual reality headset then you should go somewhere else; if you want a good dentist, go here.
