Tacoma Cemetery
New Tacoma can now LIVE STREAM funerals from our Chambers Creek Chapel so anyone you invite can watch the services LIVE from any location around the world from an internet connected device. At this time we will reopen with no restrictions and are very happy we can once again serve our families by offering every option they request to remember their loved ones.

We appreciate the understanding the community has had over the last year and a half and abiding by the directives of our State officials. Please review our gravesite "Floral & Decoration Regulations" tab at the top of our home page for a reminder of the cemetery's rules and regulations.
Services
Our first cemetery is 'Old' Tacoma Cemetery, located on 42 acres in the heart of Tacoma, at 48th & South Tacoma Way. Opened in 1875, the cemetery contains many of the founding fathers of the great City of Destiny. On any particular day you will find walkers enjoying the natural beauty of this Victorian cemetery with the many majestic trees located throughout the grounds.
Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious or military service, or as more and more people are doing, you can choose to have a non-traditional 'life celebration'.
We understand that making the many decisions which come at a time of loss can be difficult. We offer our support by providing you with two options as you consider making immediate arrangements. With online Arrangements, you can take your time to select the arrangements which are best for your preferences and budget.
These regulations are designed to preserve the beauty of our cemetery for everyone to enjoy. Flowers and grave decorations cannot be burdensome to our staff or encumber upon another grave out of respect for all. Our park staff will remove flowers &/or decorations when deemed wilted, faded or unsightly or do not conform to our regulations.
Meet the dedicated Staff of New Tacoma that are committed to providing the highest level of personal service to you and your family ensuring the best possible experience at the most difficult time. We hear over and over "You made this easier" and that's our job, to lessen your burden, fears, anxieties and most importantly, your pain.

Gorgeous walking on slight hills, this cemetary is also the best place in Tacoma to walk your dog. Our 🐕 and I have made this beautiful place our destination countless times when I want to give him a good tiring out. Within the cemetary, find the grave site with Rockin' Robin Roberts, local musician, as well as the gravestone surrounded by two massive cedars near the
back of the grounds.

The most serene spot in Tacoma and a must-visit if you’re into cemeteries and/or local history. With almost 30,000 graves, it’s kind of overwhelming. Notable residents include Tacoma founder and Civil War hero John W. Sprague and Rockin’ Robin Roberts of The Wailers.

I come here 3 to 4 times a week. This place is beautiful. It is shaded with mature trees and flowering plants. My son can run around, toss his ball and ride his scooter without worry of traffic. In the summer his favorite is to run through the sprinklers that run almost all day! Best place to walk.

The most beautiful cemetary in Pierce County! This scenic, sprawling cemetary has beautiful 134 year old trees, rolling green lawns, and thousands of unique vertical monuments. The founding fathers of Tacoma, Job Carr and General Morton McCarver are laid to rest here, along with many of Tacoma's historical elite. Tucked up off of South Tacoma Way; this cemetary is a hidden gem of the city, rich in history, beauty, and serenity.

Nice place to walk, quiet, beautiful. I like to walk around those who are at rest. Unless of course they didn't know the Lord's mercy.
