At Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel, you'll find a wide selection of burial options that can be personalized to the life celebrated. Generally, a burial or entombment is preceded by a traditional funeral service, which includes a family or public viewing and visitation period for the deceased. Once the viewing and visitation has concluded, a funeral service is held in a place of worship or in our funeral chapel.
When you choose cremation, you have many options available to celebrate the life of your loved one. You can have a traditional funeral service prior to cremation, a memorial service after the cremation takes place or arrange for a simple cremation where you will be bringing the ashes home or scattering the ashes.
At Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel we realize that not every family is prepared to pay for funeral or cremation expenses out of pocket. This should not prevent you from planning a Celebration of Life, Funeral or Memorial that they would have wanted. Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel offers financing with Memorial Funding which allows your family a more flexible payment schedule.
When a death occurs, emotions can easily overwhelm you and your family. As that is taking place, decisions that need to be made are adding up fast. I won't post all the details regarding why our family had a less than satisfactory experience with Sumner Voiles. If I had the opportunity to choose who would deal with my families remains again. I would choose differently. I felt they sincerely didn't care. Every single person I have told about my dealings with Sumner Voiles has been shocked and saddened for our family.

My brother died suddenly this year and I was nervous about who would expedite the services my family needed for his cremation. Right away, the folks at Sumner were courteous, professional and eager to help (and readily available on a late, Saturday afternoon). They took care of my brother's body at the hospital and handled his cremation in such a timely manner, that I had no worries. I was able to deal with my families grieving and the memorial service and nothing else. What a load of anxiety they took of my shoulders. Thank you Sumner Voiles Funeral Home. I was able to make all of my husband’s arrangements online at a very reasonable price when time was of the essence but the loss of my husband was paramount in my mind. I liked the way staff was very respectful of my loss at every contact and even helped carry my husband’s remains to my car when I went to pick him up. Staff also reached out to me by text within the weeks following to make sure I was doing ok and all services required of them had been done. I am still waiting for the results from our requested DNA test but this is to be expected as my husband

The staff here are great. I used this service for both of my parents. I was beside myself after my mom passed and the staff worked with me to process everything online. They were very helpful and kind. After my dad passed in March. I was reached out to see how I was doing and was offered care services if I was struggling with my loss. I found their cost to be the best I could find especially with how much they helped. I was never felt any pressure to upgrade or buy into something I didn't want or could afford. I highly recommend Sumner Voiles.

Sumner Voiles staff is compassionate, caring and accommodating. We made a special request concerning our daughter's ashes and the containers we wanted them in. (She passed after a 2 1/2 year battle with colon cancer, and wanted her ashes put into her chemo pill bottles.) She gave us a list of at least thirty places she wanted to "go along" with us after her passing...and now that adventure has begun. Sumner Voiles respectfully responded to our phone call just prior to midnight the night she passed in her home. (We also previously selected Sumner Voiles for my father's cremation in May 2019.)
