Are you looking for a martial arts school that is focused on using martial arts as a means to self improvement, rather than just fighting? Are you interested in learning how to use the mindset of martial arts and apply it to your everyday life? If you are interested in learning the philosophy that is behind the martial arts then our school is the answer you have been looking for.
I would recommend them to anyone. They are very good at teaching martial arts to all age groups from 5 year olds to over 50. As a 3rd degree judoka myself, I have seen good and bad instructors. Kevin and Renee are very good instructors and know their stuff. Wing Chun is a close-quarters combat system.

Most people who are not familiar with it usually call it a dragon dance. The Chinese Lion Dance performance is accompanied by Chinese percussion instruments.
For people who want to build incredible focus, and discipline while learning realistic self defense. Are you looking to learn how to defend yourself, and your family while getting into the best shape of your life? Dear Kevin and Renee, I would like to take this time to thank you for the positive changes you and your studio has made to my life over the last six months.
One of the things I really like about this style of kung fu is the efficiency of movement. Not only does Instructor Kevin teach us correct technique in forms and application (fighting) but, very importantly, he explains and tells you why. Anyone without any previous martial arts training will find easy to learn from a teacher as good as Instructor Kevin.
My martial arts training at the Kung Fu Academy is a source of pride for me personally, It serves as a constant reminder to me that I have untapped potential. Martial arts is a huge source of positivism and motivation in my life. I know that I can handle any challenge that comes my way. I know that whatever may happen or however hard it may be, it's all still nothing compared to the perseverance and dedication it takes to learn martial arts.
Judo classes develop your self-confidence, discipline and a type of wrestling fitness that cannot be achieved any other way. The ultimate goal of Judo, like all other martial arts, is not to develop mastery over others, but rather mastery over oneself. I always wanted to learn Judo. However, I was afraid of getting hurt, feeling lost or overwhelmed.

The Las Vegas Kung Fu Academy has changed our lives! My boys used to be so shy and introverted and now they have gained confidence and self-control and have made many friends. The family-like atmosphere of this place is just priceless. Instructor Isaac really cares about each student. This is y a one-of-a-kind place with something for every member of the family.

Instructor Kevin is a child whisperer. He goes the extra mile to get to know every child in class and individualizes the training for their specific needs. Is your kid lacking in focus, discipline, arrogance, etc? He will recognize it and will make sure he brings out the best in your child.
In addition, his wife Renee and his son Isaac make you feel like family. They care about your personal life and never forget the details of your last conversation.
What a find! There is a martial arts school just 2 blocks from where we live but we drive fall the way from the Southwest just for this school

I have been involved in Martial Arts for a while now and can say that the Kung Fu Academy provides an excellent program!
I was searching for a place to train that offered traditional Martial Arts training. I really needed an atmosphere that was not pretentious or boring. By the time I took my first class, I knew this place was for real.
Shortly afterward, I was introduced to Filipino Kali and have been ""hooked"" ever since!

We initially got involved with martial arts because my son was glued to the video games all day and I was having attitude problems at home.
A friend of mine recommended traditional martial arts as a possible solution to our problem. We are happy to say that we have seen a complete 180-degree turn in his attitude and tone-.
Now instead of wanting to just stay at home and play video games, he is begging me to go to class and practice with his classmates. In fact, sometimes when we are running late he gets upset with us because he does not want to miss the warmup.

I attended the academy for over 12 years, and it was most certainly not worthwhile. The school owner, Kevin, does not treat his students or employees well (just check Indeed for employee reviews). He makes some of his own instructors pay for their children’s class attendance and does not even pay them for teaching. He makes some students, most of which are kids, teach without compensation or so much as a discount. His performance team is made up of kids that receive none of the money he makes off of performing, and he doesn’t even let us keep our tips. He also can be aggressive, due to his

This is a response to Roman Mara’s review of the Kung Fu Academy.
I am one of the instructors here who Roman is referring to as being unpaid workers. I don’t feel like I am an unpaid worker, far from it in fact. I have a totally different perspective.
I approached Instructor Kevin about enrolling at the Kung Fu Academy about 3 months ago. I have experience in martial arts ( Aikido) and when I told Instructor Kevin about it and how I would have a hard time affording classes, He immediately offered to let me help out with kids classes in exchange for tuition. I jumped at the chance!

This place is a true professional self development school for kids. The instructors are super attentive and they use fun "weapons" like swords and sticks to challenge and stimulate the students.
Renee is my favorite. She doesn't tell the kids to be nice to each other, she asks them, what is kindness? Also, what is integrity, what is self-reliance, etc.
Kevin is the Master. He explains things clearly and simply and gently corrects them without yelling (even if he has to remind them over and over.) My kid needs a LOT of patience and repetition. He takes the kids aside one on one

My wife and I wanted Maximus, our 3 year old son, to take some sort of classes. We don't know what he likes to do yet so don't want to commit.
Not only did they not force us to sign up for classes, they wanted to make sure we didn't join unless it was a good fit. So we went to a few "tryouts" where Renee tried to teach Maximus a few things.
The only reason we are not signed up is because Maximus didn't have an interest. When he gets older, I'm definitely excited to bring him back to gauge his interest.

My 4.5 year daughter just started class here. She loved it soooo much! The class is not only teaching how to punch, but also teaching them manners (how to introduce yourself to others, not interrupting people's conversation, respect others...). I think manners are even more important than punching, especially for younger kids 4-9. They need to understand WHY they need to punch before punching for FUN. This is very important and the class is PERFECT!!! Highly recommended for all ages!

Owners and Instructors Kevin & Renee Kawada was very welcoming and inviting from the first moment we stepped into their Academy. We came to take a tour of their facility, which was very clean, spacious and lots of parking. However, not only did we take a tour we actually signed up on the spot. Our son was invited to join in with their class that same day. We loved it and so did he. Prices were reasonable and affordable. We are excited to be apart of the LV Kung Fu Academy family..

It has been awhile since we attended class here, but I can tell you Kevin and Renee are amazing, and their son Isaac is a stand up, talented young man that knows his stuff and is great with kids. We took a step back from going because our children were maybe a little young and with school and other activities we were stretched a little thin (we had just moved here). We are looking to get back into Martial Arts for our son (every adolescent boy can benefit from the rigors of training and the respect and discipline instilled during training) so obviously this is the first place we wanted to look

My son has been going here for the first time this school year - he is a spunky 5yo who has so much energy. I love the owners - Renee is so amazing and sweet. Their son helps with a lot of the classes and my son just LOVES to go. The best part is that it helps with his hyperactivity and gets him to focus, listen, respect others and to work with others. Life skills at every class!! Love it. I will probably add another day for him soon.

I am very picky and specially when is something that involves my daughter. Yes, I am over protective!!! And it did took me few days for me to do my research because I wanted to be sure that my little Nadilee will be attending a safety place and of course I do want her to have fun while she learn. I have to say that Kung Fu Academy is very well train to teach kids at a young age. They have the patience and the leadership to do it. I'm feel so content to witness their trainee with the students. One of my mayor concern was to know if Nadilee will enjoy her class since she is my energizer bunny

My wife and I signed up my 4.5 year old daughter for a one year unlimited class (12 months @ 185 per month totaling over $2,200 per year). Note: you are locked into the contract. We expected this to be long term and possibly add her sibling as well. Here is our review:

My husband and I just got married and he really wanted to have a lion dance at our wedding. I was a little skeptical since it's not usually my tradition and I was not sure what to expect, but I am extremely pleased we did it! We were considering a couple places but Renee at lv king fu academy was extremely accommodating and easy to work with.
For the wedding, Renee came over and told us what to expect and guided us on what to do. She came over to speak to us and thanked us several times before and after the performance.
Our guests loved the performance! We had my husbands chinese family

I have been in and around the martial arts for 30 years and can testify that Mr. and Mrs. Kawada are the real deal when it comes to doing AND teaching the martial arts. They embody the Aloha spirit and run their school with a high level of integrity. They balance the old school methods of Asian training with modern 21st century Western methods. They are open minded to learning which makes them open minded when teaching. They can easily adapt the curriculum to any individual's limitations, needs and goals. It did not take me long as a student to realize that this is a place I want to train

I can not say enough good stuff about this studio and the owners! My 6 year old has been attending class, twice a week, over the past couple of years and he LOVES it! They teach the children not only martial arts skills but they enforce life lessons, such as respect for others, being responsible and taking accountability, being a team player and self confidence.
We moved from out of town and I visited many studios before deciding on Las Vegas Kung Fu, it is a family owned and run studio and they truly care about their students and the families that attend. I am so impressed with all the staff

Keep up the good work.

Location - Great
Staff and teachers - Seemed to have the Hawaiian hospitality.
Learning - Took my son there for a summer of learning and well, it was very blah. Seemed unorganized, no involvement with parent. You would think if they want the kid to continue that they would have consultations and discussions with the parents.
Perhaps I must be the one to take an active role, but for now,I would say that they were not assertive. I went there on a pre-visit, my sister checked them out and spoke to them as well. Oh Well, we will
