Thornwood Veterinary Clinic was established September of 1972. The facility is located on 23 acres in Cascade Township, providing a true haven for many of our animal friends, both domestic and wild. We have several full and part-time veterinarians, supported by a qualified, dedicated, pet-loving staff.

The mission of Thornwood Veterinary Clinic is to provide excellent and compassionate veterinary care to our patients while providing a personal, educational and affordable experience for their owners. We take pride in the many veterinary services we have to offer. Any patient who comes in for routine vaccinations will receive a full physical examination by the doctor.

We really like thornwood - you helped us with our very sick puppy and gave us the knowledge we needed to make a decision on how to care for him.
Our pet groomer offers full service, all-breed dog grooming and also some cat grooming. All dogs are groomed to AKC Standard (breed standard) and/or owner's specifications. Daisy dogs, designer breeds, etc. are groomed accordingly to their owners wishes, along with the groomer's trained eye to help the owner decide which trim suits their dog's body style and coat texture.
Thornwood is a premier boarding facility in Ada, Michigan. We are one of the few dog boarding facilities offering connected, individual indoor/outdoor runs allowing your pet much greater space and opportunity for exercise. There are 58 kennel units available, constructed of wood and spacious enough to accommodate up to two large dogs in the same kennel should you be a multi-dog family.
Doggy day care is ideal for the busy pet owner and energetic dog! Any pet needing more attention, activity, exercise, or just some socialization throughout the day is welcome to join. Our program allows you to drop your pet off before going to work, before running your daily errands, or whenever you're ready for a break!

Extremely rude receptionist. I called to get my dogs vaccines sent over to a day care so I could send my dog there for the day. Called in the morning to get them sent over, by mid day they still weren’t sent. Called back to see if they could send them and they yelled at me saying they were so busy and didn’t get a chance. I understand if your busy but please don’t talk down to me and yell at me for simply asking. That was just one of many things.

First visit to this clinic with a sick dog. They took her in right away and the staff could not have been any better. Very friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable. After my dog was seen, the doctor came out and spoke with me in detail and at length about her assessment. She really listened to my concerns and was respectful of my perspectives on the situation. You can tell they really care here! Very reasonably priced and they did not try to upsell at all. So happy to have found them!

Great service, friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff. We have had 3 dogs seen here and Thornwood staff has always given us many options regarding our animals and what best meets their breed specific care . Our dogs also enjoy being boarded here, not sure if it's the walks or the attention from the staff, they are always happy & healthy when they come home.

I had been having issues with my dog's previous vet's office for years and was not sure where else to go. A friend recommended Thornwood. I was able to get my dog in the same day I called to see if they were taking new patient appointments. The doctor was incredibly thorough and helpful. She answered all of my questions and explained everything so clearly. The front desk staff were the most generously kind people! Very fair pricing and affordable pet care. You guys are amazing! Thank you for helping us even through the weird days of the shutdown!

The people that worked with me and my dog were absolutely wonderful and very informative. Vet told me my dog was about 10 days away from delivering her pups. 10 days later they were born. They were understanding and extremely helpful. I recommend this vet time and time again. Thank you Thornwood for everything you did for me and Ivy.
