Our self-defense program develops confidence, discipline, respect and physical and mental competence through a variety of drills, exercises, and techniques designed to engage their minds and develop their physical strength, coordination, and endurance. Society is filled with many audio and visual distractions: it is important to begin nurturing focus as a habit at a young age.
In every class we follow Three Rules of Focus - focus the eyes, focus the mind, and focus the body. Our teens participate in a martial arts program that challenges them both mentally and physically, as well as develops strong character and discipline. Services
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced martial artist, United Studios of Self Defense has a program to fit your needs. Men, women and children of all ages and professions participate in our Private and Group Training Programs. We start children as early as 3 years old, have NO age limit for our adult programs, and all ages in between.
Our students receive patches for their achievements, and they proudly display these patches on their uniforms. Each patch has a unique meaning and drives our students to continuously succeed. By incentivising our students with these patches, we are able to push the limits of their stamina, strength and willpower.
The tiger is known for it's tremendous power. It's physically the strongest of the 5 animals. Always pressing, controlling and driving its opponents into submission. The tiger's defense is on the offence, it attacks with powerful sweeping and liner blocks and strikes, crushing its opponents attempts.
Our student uniform's star spangled lapel jumps with color, building confidence by keeping achievements fresh in the kids mind. We motivate our students with positive encouragement by giving them credit when they put effort into the class curriculum. The Red White & Blue Star is awarded to students who demonstrate acts of kindness and assistance.
The class consists of positive reinforcement drills and relays which help in developing coordination, problem solving, team work, and memory. Our kempo warriors develop physical and mental competence in a variety of drills, exercises and techniques designed to engage their minds and develop their physical strength, coordination, and endurance.

By far one of the best MMA/GRAPPLING instructors out there. Ever since I started training with Dave, my skills shot through the roof. Everything he teachers is LEGIT! Everything he teaches is quick and straight to the point. No stalling, just quick and easy finishes.

A complete horror show. This gym has a terrible environment, and I am genuinely shocked that they haven't had a lawsuit yet. The 'trainer' doesn't use headgear or mouthpiece while sparring, and he also allows no stoppages or breaks in sparring so you can get hurt VERY bad. The rates for 100 a month and 200 without contract are way too expensive. A gym a block away called Never Quit Boxing Gym is $25 a month for unlimited classes with free gym equipment uses and a trainer that actually has professional records online. The coach is not suited to teach non-professionals (or people that aren't looking

Highly recommend!! I found the coach David Howard through groupon. He is an amazing person. He truly cares about the wellbeing of his students. He is a great mentor and a phenomenal coach. He is very patient and will always find something that works for you. A lot of martial arts schools will teach you a technique and if you don't get it they'll keep drilling it or give up on you. But Dave will show you something that you can actually do and everything is simple and straight to the point. When I first came to Dave I was scared of trying something new. Others might say that the couches they are just bad and mean to their students but when you start training with them and work with them, you see how real life works and some may say that they need to take it easy on them, but in real life there no easy. I’ve trained with them for 3 years and David Howard is the nicest guy along with everyone he trains

Love United Studios of Self defense Stephanie is great with setting you up with appointments getting to try the first class as an introductory, they have great instructors and especially Sensei Bobby he is wonderful with my son Sebastian helped him break out of his shell on the first day and he is always so excited to come he can't wait to learn more

This place is phenomenal. My kids have been attending their karate classes for a couple of weeks now and I already see a big improvement in their behavior. They are a lot more focused and show a lot more discipline. They are very happy while they are in class and burn a lot of energy. They love it here. They enjoy training and I will be keeping them here after the classes I purchased on Groupon are up. Would definitly recommend this place.

My 7 yr old daughter started about 2 weeks ago and she absolutely loves it! Sensai Bob and all the instructors are so good with the kids. I originally signed up with the Groupon to make sure she would enjoy it and officially signed up for a year membership today! She is really looking forward to earning patches and moving up in rank! My son has been going to Peewee classes (3-5 year olds) for 4 months now and he has grown considerably in confidence and strength. Sensei Bob and the other staff are amazing with the kids - very patient, encouraging, and consistent.
The class is a nice balance of helping the children burn off their energy and teaching them something new. The instructors love rewarding the kids who work hard with stickers and patches, but I think the kids really appreciate the honest cheering from the instructors and the double high fives.

Best place to train at in Vegas. Dave Howard is one of the original trainers from the first mma school in Vegas (J-sect). I learn how to fight and defend myself. I started with jiu-jitsu with other trainers and Dave made my game sky rocket. I learn how to mix my stand up game and ground game together and I learn lots of arts with Dave. Dave as well taught me how to be more confident and many more. Best school in Vegas.

Best place in Vegas. Dave was one of the first trainer of the first mma school in Las Vegas. There's always something new. He gives confidence to everyone who needs it or anyone. I love dave. He taught me so much. He taught me courage, to follow my dreams, and being a man. Thanks to him I got an awesome job and a career. Without Dave, i would be completely different. He could make your kids from having no goals or confidence to having confidence and courage. This is the best place to bring yourself or your kids.

I found USSD on groupon and I'm glad I did it's a great. USSD Instructors are awesome very friendly and great with the kids. They have various class's and styles of martial arts that the kids can learn if they choose to do so. My son is excited to learn and that's makes my wife and I very happy that he will able to defend himself. I recommend it parents who want their kids to learn self defense and build confidence in them selves.

My kids were looking to start training in karate and based on the prior Yelp reviews, we gave this studio a try. There was a special going on where the first week was free. I filled out the interest section in their website and Sensei Bob emailed me back within a few minutes. He answered any questions I had and based on the professionalism, we showed up the next week and began classes.
The kids were nervous at first, but the instructors made them feel at ease, but maintained a "patient discipline" with them. I was impressed that they were addressing and issues in behavior that arose

This is about martial arts for adults - many positive reviews are left for this dojo and how great they are with kids, which is absolutely true, but I want to address the adult demographic.
WARNING: This is going to be a long one, but I want to explain why I'm leaving 5 stars. Not just to say "it's a great place to be" or "the people are helpful". There's so much more to this for me.
I have watched my 11 year old daughter flourish under Sensei Bob and his staff the last several months. I have always loved martial arts, but due to my personal health restrictions

My boyfriends son has been coming here for a little bit over a year now, and he loves it. Sensei Bob is a great mentor. You can tell that he loves his students and wants them to succeed. He is the only man I know that has that much patience with a dojo full of kids from ages ranging from 3-10. I will say that his class of maybe 15-20 kids, they all listen and pay attention to him. The students all participate and if they feel a little discouraged Sensei Bob is right there trying to boost their confidence.

Ninja Bob is awesome. The nicest guy around. I would feel sorry for anyone who wants to mug this guy. He is lethal, and shows women, men, teens and little kids some great self defense info.
He and his staff are very nice. The place is very clean. They have a really nice website.
