As a marriage and family therapist (MFT), I see the same concept (the manner in which we maintain our cars) existing in our interpersonal relationships. There are couples that seek counseling before they even marry, to explore their unspoken expectations in the safety of a therapeutic environment facilitated by an impartial clinician.

Are you looking for relief from trauma or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can dramatically reduce the symptoms associated with emotional and physical trauma. It is estimated that 51.2% of women and 60.7% of men will experience a traumatic event in their lifetime (Ditlevsen & Elklit, 2012).
Are you struggling with excessive viewing of pornography and/or a sexual addiction? At San Jose Counseling, we utilize proven strategies to help you recover from compulsive sexual behaviors.

Sexual addiction, also referred to as "hypersexual disorder, " "compulsive sexual behavior, " and "problematic sexual behavior, " is a maladaptive preoccupation with sex, sometimes entailing the frantic hunt for non-intimate encounters of a sexual nature, such as, but not limited to: anonymous sex, pornography, solicitation of escorts or prostitutes, affairs and compulsive masturbation.
The term MFT stands for Marriage and Family Therapist, and is the official terminology used by the State of California. MFTs are relationship specialists who treat persons involved in interpersonal relationships. The term LMFT stands for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Marriage and Family Therapists are regulated and licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
