When you step inside the Green Tea Restaurant & Bar in Farmington, CT the Chinese food aromas will delight you. The superb ambiance and service will, too. The menu at our Chinese restaurant offers traditional and specialty Oriental fare along with Thai and Hong Kong Dim Sum. We also have weight watchers and gluten free selections on our menu.
At the Green Tea Restaurant & Bar, we serve alcoholic beverages in the dining areas and at our sit down bar. We serve domestic and imported beers and a variety of cocktails. Because we are a Chinese restaurant, our bartenders will also make you an Asian martini and other delicious drinks you expect to find such as the Scorpion Bowl and Mai Tai.

This used to be one of our go to hang out destination for my friends and I in the early 2000's. We all went away for college and when we came back the food quality was not the same. The past two times I've gone I was unable to finish my food due to the sauce being overly greasy and got sick from eating it. The water tasted so terrible we ended up ordering bottled drinks. It makes me sad to see this happen to a place that I once loved and holds such great memories š¢ š

Do yourself a favor if youāre craving for dim sumā¦ take that drive to Boston, Lowell, or NYC ā¦ or even go to the Asian market to buy frozen dim sum. I donāt want to sound mean but this is the first time, in my entire life Iāve tasted very bad dim sum. I wasnāt expecting muchā but something that could curb my cravings . However ā¦ it was just. That. Horrible. To the owners of Green tea, I hope you up your game on the dim-sum. If not, I really think itās best you donāt even have it on the menu.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. First off, we got dim sum menus and waited about 10 minutes after deciding to, to take our menus (which is not too too bad honestly). Over half an hour passes before the waitress to tell us there was no dim sum. She fhen asked if we wanted the regular menu back and the menus never came. Luckily when we put in our order for dim sum, we ordered an egg roll and crispy coconut shrimp, so at least we got some food. That order of appetizers took over an hour to get to us. People who came in after us had whole meals and were almost ready to pay before

My wife and I have frequently gone to Green Tea and have enjoyed it until now.
Placed an order for chicken noodle soup and ended up getting chick and rice soup.
Ended up taking a ride back to get what I actually ordered then came home to eat it and was disgusted to have a piece of rolled up plastic found in my soup!
Will no longer be going back to Green Tea after this experience.

Summary: Casual American Chinese restaurant serving the usual items along with some Thai specialties. The food is catered to the American palate and has a sweeter flavor. Lunch specials are great and prepared well. Dim sum items, however, lack the same taste and freshness seen in NYC and Boston counterparts. Patrons dining in will receive excellent service and ambiance although others opt to order take out.
Recommended: Any lunch special.
Avoid: Dim sum.
āāā - Good, worth a visit
