Massage Therapy is a profession by which the practitioner applies manual techniques (by use of the hands or body) to the client/patient's body. The technique called "massage" uses soft tissue manipulation, which includes holding, causing movement, and/or applying pressure to the body.

Reflexology (Zone Therapy) is a study of the reflexes organized around a system of points on the hands and feet that correspond, or "reflex", to every part of the body. Massaging specific reflex points triggers a reflex action to stimulate various nerves relating to the body part or organ being treated, relaxing the tension and helping the body to seek its own equilibrium.
