This is the nicest apartment! It’s close by everything you need and is within walking distance. The security is great, the staff is friendly, the property is clean, and the noise level is minimal. Inner-city vibes but still feels like home. The Academy is truly its own little community, and it feels good to be a part of it.

These apartments are way too expensive for their location and the quality and size of their rooms. Their website is a complete catfish. You room is barely large enough to fit your bed--mine goes wall to wall. Also note, you absolutely will not get any part of your security deposit back-- they will charge you all $1500 for that little paint chip on the wall. Their " electronic key access for the maximum amount of privacy and security for residents" is unreliable. Twice now, I have come home late at night and my key does not work. I waited, outside the apartment building alone, for an HOUR until

The Academy Chorro markets themselves as "comfortable, convenient, and classy" student housing. While the complex is private and clean, the quality of the walls, paint, and furniture is average.
DO NOT put tape/command strips/pins on the walls; there is only one thin coat of paint on the walls that easily peels off. Damaging paint on the walls will cost you $100 per wall that is damaged. The walls are also incredibly thin.
The furniture is average-quality and uncomfortable.
The units are cramped, and poorly designed. In my case, the front door would block the entrance to the kitchen when open

Absolutely TERRIBLE!!! Parents please please please do not rent from the Chorro!!!!!!! They are the most unethical people we have ever come in contact with!
My son had a grease fire because of the poor ventilation in the terrible apartments and they are now trying to charge us $200,000 for the repair of the apartment fire!!! The police and fire department cleared my son and his friends and said it was an accident because of the poor ventilation at the Chorro!
They are the most unethical people you will ever deal with!

The Academy Chorro is incredible! As a parent of a resident, I am constantly blown away by this place, specifically the management! When the kids are studying for midterms, they provide snacks. When they're studying for finals, they make them snack bags and have them waiting by the door for the kids to grab. And then they deliver pizzas to their apartments. WHAT?!!! I mean, you're gonna pay rent wherever you live. There's no way your kid gets treated like this anywhere else. Mother's Day? No problem. They have a card station with a box of cards for the kids to choose from. Father's Day? SAME THING

Living at the Academy has been a great experience during my last year in college. After living in a few different places and dealing with all the hassles of renting, it was great how easy and positive the Academy made the experience. Jeremy and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The appartments themselves are very comfortable and nice and unlike most student housing the heaters actually work! Would definitely reccommend to others.
