Services
Balayage is a French word meaning 'to sweep' or 'to paint'. It allows for a sun-kissed natural-looking hair color, similar to what nature gives us as children. The hair world borrowed the term 'ombre' from the French word meaning shaded or shading. Ombre hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends.
If you need to change your appointment date or time, please alert the staff of your request no less than 24 hours prior to your pre-existing scheduled appointment. Failure to do so will result in a charge of up to but not more than the total price of your service to the credit card on file. This policy is in place out of respect for our stylists and our clients.
Not all color is created equal. Advanced color work, extreme changes, multi-stage processes within one visit such as slate grey, jewel tones, rainbow, or Rose Gold will incur al al carts pricing. We need to start with a complimentary consultation. Not all haircuts are created equal. From barber and advanced pixie cuts, to medium/long lengths each cut is priced based on technique and time.

I highly recommend Kristin! I have very curly hair and do not trust most people to style but she always does a great job. She’s cut my hair and most recently dyed it and always gives the best advice on care and products. Seriously, you need to check her out!

I am beyond satisfied with this hair salon, it's a very welcoming place and trust me, these people make you feel like a queen. Peabo Frank is THE BEST curly hair professional out there. I trust him with my eyes closed. My curls were in a very bad place and Peabo saved my hair like a boss, it went way better than I would've ever expected. I had such a great first visit at Pure! 100% due to my appointment with Peabo. He was so warm and welcoming, listened intently to what I wanted, and also had great suggestions and was sure to ask appropriate questions. Honestly it was my favorite salon visit ever. I felt seen and listened to!! And of course my hair looks incredible!! Can't wait to come back and see Peabo again.

Jenny is awesome as usual and the cut and color are great. I was also happy to see that Pure is taking Covid safety very seriously. The clients and stylists are distanced appropriately, everything is cleaned, and everyone wears a mask and uses hand sanitizer. I don’t go to most stores out of an abundance of caution, but I felt safe going to Pure. They are taking all the right precautions to keep their stylists and clients safe.

I've been with my stylist Peabo for a little under a year now, I ended up following him from his previous salon to this new one. He does such a great job with my curly hair, always leaves me speechless. I'll always trust him with my hair. He knows exactly what it needs to make it look fabulous. Not to mention, he always makes me feel fab when taking my before and after pictures. I got blonde highlights done this time and couldn't be happier with my results. He's friendly, always makes me laugh and made me feel comfortable while getting my hair done during these times.

Very disappointed. After reading such rave reviews, I was excited to try a new hair salon in Boston and made an appointment with Peabo. It started off fine, I arrived 10 minutes early and waited for him to finished the appointment before me. He was very friendly, showed me to my seat and introduced himself. As we began talking through what I wanted, another woman came in and said she needed an up do. Peabo let me know he had to "do a quick up do" and "would be back in a minute." It was clear she was having photos taken or some important milestone so I was patient. Unfortunately

I had a wonderful experience with Peabo. From start to finish he was attentive and comforting. I've had bad experiences with my curly hair in the past, and I felt very comfortable knowing Peabo knew what he was doing. He is very knowledgeable and shared a lot of his tips and tricks to help maintain my curls healthy. I will definitely be going back to him!

This review is for Peabo Frank. I have had tons of awful haircuts in the past, and was feeing pretty discouraged until I found Peabo. He is a curl WIZARD. Not only did he reawaken my lifeless curls, but he taught me everything I needed to know about keeping them looking amazing on my own. I've been going here for 2+ years and Jennifer Goodine is amazing! I have dark and greying late 30's hair and her blonde foils are so natural looking. She really takes time to get to know what style you like, how you like your hair to blend, how you wear it daily, and strategically places highlights so you notice it everyday. Jennifer is a pro! And this salon is a laid back, un-pretentious spot that's sorely needed in Boston where snooty Newburyport street reigns in over-priced glory. Check them out.

I have been going to Pure Hair, and specifically Apryl, for almost 15 years. They have become more than a salon, they are friends. Apryl has made my hair look gorgeous with her talent with color, and she now straightens it, and I've never looked more beautiful. She's also going to do my hair for my wedding! She's a gem! There is no better, and I've been to a lot!

Actual haircut: not well done and overpriced.
1. Asked for long layers, but these were not well done. After the first wash it was apparent that the layers were all over the place. My hair normally sits very nicely (low maintenance, wash and wear), but the weird layering job makes my cut look raggedy. Fast forward to a month later and it clearly looks like two separate layers rather than a well-balanced cut. Also

I had always gone to the same woman to do my hair from my first haircut until I moved to Boston (even going home on breaks during college to go back to her). I went to Lily for a color correction and she completely transformed the brassy, awful reddish color that the other salon gave me into the perfect shade of blonde. When I thought it was a little too dark, she immediately got me some highlights for around my face and made it absolutely perfect.
