My name is Pedro Sun, and I'm a personal trainer and nutritionist. I've been helping people move without pain, lose weight (or gain weight) and feel confident about their bodies since 2010. I've had the opportunity to help kids, senior citizens and everything in between. I've always been curious how food and movement affect us, which led me to get a degree in nutrition and get certified as a personal trainer.
As we know, San Diego likes to stay classy. With beautiful beaches, great beer, it's only right that America's finest city has some of the healthiest food options in America. I have known Pedro for 10 years as a fellow student of pain science applied to manual therapy, pt, and massage. He knows the theory well and cares about being current with the best available practice. only this year when i had a car crash broken clavicle and ulnar; did I experience his application of the science. He really is an empathetic listener and met me where I was at- frustrated in mild pain and uncertain I could get out of this;( His feed back and suggestions were real, not out of a twxtbook, and pierced through my anger and deffensiveness. And he even followed up with me on my progress

Pedro was a phenomenal personal trainer. He was able to push me to get out of my head and the dreaded "this is how it should be". Through my time training with Pedro I became more confident with lifting weights and gained range of motion. He helped me gain strength and lessen the pain I was going through while training for a Half Marathon. Accomodating of my busy schedule but made sure I was accountable to myself. Great experience!

I've been dealing with back issues for a while and also started to lose interest in going to the gym. I felt that a new perspective on my fitness goals was needed and sought Pedro out for a consultation. When we first met, he told me that his goal for all his clients was to get them to the point where they don't need him anymore. That I really respected.

Pedro is one of the best trainers. Anywhere. I went to see him after two years of really neglecting my health post-baby. He worked with me on my worst issues and helped me learn proper techniques and methods in working out to protect my body against further damage. He was flexible with my busy schedule and so patient when I was late for sessions due to parking issues (the parking lot is terrible get there early). I can't say enough good things about him and the only reason I'm still not working with him is because I moved to another state. If you are on the fence at all, go see him once

He's far more informed than many physical therapists I've been to, utilizing evidence based research in his approach to assisting you to move pain-free and safely. Pedro is what made this place for me. He took the time to understand my needs as a military rugby player and went out of his way to help me educate myself on how and why my body responded to his assistance. Instead of just focusing on what I thought I wanted, he made sure to help me fix what I needed by working on my flexibility, balance, and previous injury recovery. Pedro is an awesome trainer. Every week I feel better than the last. He keeps a sharp eye on how I move and is constantly checking in to make sure I'm comfortable. I'm very self-conscious about my fitness level but Pedro is very encouraging and constructive all the time. I recently started going see Pedro after I had knee surgery and was still having problems making my knee strong again. I currently see Pedro once a week and have totally noticed big changes in my strength and flexibility. Pedro works with my limitations but still pushes me within my own safe limits so that I continue to get stronger. Pedro is a great teacher and adaptable. Pedro is just awesome! I think he deserves more than 5 stars. I was very comfortable working with him. I like the fact that he keeps a log of your progress. He listened to what I exactly want to achieved. I also really appreciate that I was able to bring my toddler during the sessions. The place is safe and clean for him to run around and explore while I work out. I am loving the progress I have made over the course of 5 sessions. I will definitely continue working with Pedro when I can.

Pedro is the best! I came to Pedro seeking advice on nutrition for weight loss and was not disappointed. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, friendly, positive, and motivating. He asked a lot of questions and really listened to try to determine a course that was best for me. He also identified for me areas of micronutrients that I was deficient in to help me balance my diet. He wasn't into meal plans or diets, which I appreciated, and encouraged me to eat MORE! I found Pedro as I was searching for a trainer who was also versed in nutrition. I set up an appointment with him at Catalyst Physical Therapy and Wellness and he quickly responded with a warm and welcoming introduction. When we met for our first session, he was very attentive and thoughtful and helped me narrow in on any pain I was experiencing. Pedro is very dedicated to what he does and it shows. I have never felt more comfortable working out with someone but Pedro makes sure you are no matter what. He is also the type of trainer who encourages to eat, not deprive yourself. I saw results from him within the first couple of weeks and I have never felt better. Pedro is an excellent trainer! He trained my brother and I in his gym about 2 weeks ago and I have learned so much about technique. I thought that I was doing squats and deadlifts properly all along, but I wasn't and some of the trainers I worked with did not correct any of my mistakes. Pedro helped me improve my squats and deadlifts by adjusting simple body positions to improve mobility and technique. Body position is very important in biomechanics and without the guidance of Pedro, I would probably be doing improper deadlifts and squats. His skills are evidence based and he is always up

First and foremost, Pedro is an excellent trainer. I always feel comfortable working with him, and I love having a one on one environment without having an entire gym watching me in the background. Pedro shows his passion for his work while training others and in his continuous effort to stay up to date in the world of kinesiology and nutrition. He knows when to push, when I think I can't do anymore. He also knows when to tone it down for me, based on any issues I may be having.

As a Registered Dietitian and former personal trainer, I whole-heartedly recommend Pedro as a personal trainer. Pedro and I completed our undergrad together at SDSU many moons ago and he is simply a rad, intelligent, passionate person. I love having Pedro as my trainer. My schedule is crazy but he is very flexible and willing adjust to my needs. I still have a few more session left with him because I haven't had the chance to go due to some changes. I told him to forget about it but he refused to give up on me. I love the cool down session after the work out. He doesnt just wave u off after the hour. He makes sure that I am well stretched before and after the work out.
