Our goal is to empower you by improving your physical strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, and balance, while reducing body fat. South Park Fitness is a gym unlike any other. Services
I joined South Park Fitness recently and absolutely love it. They have a military discount, and no contract. The staff is super friendly and everyone seems to know each other and want to help. While the gym is small, it has everything you need to get in a good workout, and then some. There's also a little outdoor yard area in the back, which is nice for getting a lift in on a sunny day.
We have a Jump Start Program that gives a client three personal training sessions designed specifically with their goals in mind. It teaches what kind of workout would be best and how to perform proper techniques. After the first three sessions, members receive a written workout that they can do on their own.
The South Park Fitness Jump Start Program is three personal training sessions where a personal trainer will assess your specific health needs and goals and create a unique workout routine for you. The Jump Start Program is by appointment only. A strong core and abdominal strength helps prevent injuries, improves posture, and gives a sense of balance, and integration and is a foundation for all other forms of exercise.
We offer discounts for military and students. Please come in and talk to us about creating a package of training to meet your goals today. Memberships include unlimited daily visits, free Wifi, free towel service, showers, free street parking, support staff and invitations to members only workshops, events and neighborhood mixers.
Do you have more questions for us? Are you visiting from out of town? Are there some special needs you would like us to accomodate? Everyone has a question about something. And that is fine with us. Here are some frequently asked questions. Think we should add another to this list? Let us know and we just might.

Just joined a couple weeks ago! It's clean and I appreciate how mindful they are about COVID 19 and the rules that are implemented to make it safe. Owner is friendly and members are respectful of the space. A great outdoor area which I like. And they also have towel service. I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and i didn't feel intimidated when I first joined like I do with some gyms.

Terrible experience trying to cancel our membership. confusing, unresponsive and unprofessional. ultimately confrontational.

i think it's short sighted to treat south park residents like garbage. feels like our neighbor just stole a hundred bucks from me. yuck.

left with a very creepy feeling about south park fitness... this place made me feel bad.

I've been a member of a variety of gyms in San Diego, from the "corporate big names" to other locally-owned gyms in different areas. Ultimately and more importantly - honestly, the gym has 97% of equipment required for everything and everyone at any level or fitness category/discipline. Heavy iron lifters to Crossfit to Aerobic exercisers and everything in between all have a place and get what they need to get done and have a great workout here.
As a South Park local I can tell you this gym really permeates the neighborly vibe and familiarity that makes me never want to leave South Park. Owner

Visiting from Sacramento and so glad I found this place. I paid $10 for a daily pass and it was well worth it; spent about 2 hours in the facility and was able to get a solid workout in.

Some of their equipment includes:

-Treadmills
-Ellipticals
-Stationary bicycles
-Smith machine
-Squat rack
-Bench press
-Cable system
-Free weights

Will definitely return anytime I visit my sister in SD!

Fantastic gym with plenty of light and space. The owner, Rob, is incredibly friendly and welcoming.

All the equipment you'll need for an excellent cardio or fitness training.

Plus it's not in a standard gym but housed in the old firehouse in South Park with high ceilings and lots of space.

Best thing: no loudly grunting meat-heads or rude narcissistic people in sight.

Everyone is polite, friendly and it truly feels like home

Oh...Rob has impeccable taste in work out music

And Roofus the goofy golden doodle puppy is damned cute.

Great, neighborhood, friendly, small gym for regular people. Never crowded. Rob the owner and host, is as good as it gets. Could not ask for more. I started working with Mike Florendo, Personal Trainer, about 6 months ago. He is truly amazing. I don't think there is a muscle in your body that he doesn't understand how to make it perform. He has been assisting me with a chronic back issue, which he took the time to look ask for my X-rays, studied them, and did some research to find the best way to approach the problem. IT'S WORKING!

What is also amazing, is that there is not a huge

I love this Gym. The owner Rob is a great guy and remembers everyone's name. It has all the weights/machines you need for a good workout. What I love the most is the gym is not full of people staring at themselves in the mirror or taking Instagram pictures. It's a gym for getting a great workout period. The location is great for anyone living in the north park, South Park, or golden hill area. The building is super cool, it used to be the fire station for the South Park area.

Small and overpriced. Too many treadmills. 1 leg machine. Would not recommend. Canceled my membership and they continued to charge me for a few months. Asked for a refund and they couldn't even figure out how to do that. They actually ended up charging me an extra few months, essentially doubling the amount I was billed after I was no longer a member. There are better gyms for much much lower prices with better equipment. Would not recommend this place. 0 stars if I could but I can't.

This gym wasn't for me. After less than a month, I decided to cancel my membership. As others here have stated, it is a cozy gym in a cool building with standard equipment for the average gym goer. It has a yard outside, which is nice for doing things that require space.

Think of it as an expensive neighborhood 24 hour fitness (50$/month). Also, you have to pay a 50$ sign-up fee which I don't quite understand the point of.

If all your workout consists of is machine work and running on the treadmill or elliptical, you probably won't mind this place. The atmosphere is VERY casual

Rob the owner genuinely cares about the members of his gym and that's quite obvious once you join. Rob and staff don't just treat you like a membership holder, they treat you like a human being. The support I'm getting in my personal journey of health and fitness from Rob and staff is amazing. It truly keeps me going back and keeps me from giving up! The gym is kept super clean and has everything I need! It is literally the BEST gym I ever joined hands down.

I've been a member for 6 months now and I've never had a bad or annoying experience here. The gym isn't full of people flexing in the mirrors or shadow boxing after sets to show everyone how tough they are.

It's small and relatively slow (during the times I go). There are only a few staff so they all know your name once you become a regular or are as devilishly handsome as I am. They are always happy to spot you or provide insight. The addition of a dietitian is a cool deal too.

My only complaint is minor, but the heaviest dumbbells (45-80) are just in a row on the floor

The best review I can give this gym is that I've been a member here for 11 months now, and not only am I still a member, but I continue to work out at the gym 4+ times a week! How many new gym members (let alone new year-resolution-makers) can say that?! I'm still very happy with this neighborhood gym and my experiences here. Gym upkeep and service is excellent- in the past year I've seen them do quite a bit of work (including replacing some large mirrors and painting/touching up the bathrooms). The best part of this gym by far though, is that I continue to see all the employees

South Park Fitness has renewed my love for gyms and working out. It's not too crowded, the people are nice, the space is clean and unique and the management is awesome. As a former collegiate coach I have a high set of standards for strength and conditioning facilities and what equipment should and should not be in a gym taking up space. South Park Fitness is small but very well organized, offering impressive options for its size.

Yes, it's close to my house which makes it extra appealing but that aside I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a "gym" and not
