Services
Aikido at The Center is an organization formed to share the teaching and principles of Aikido, in the lineage of Morihei Ueshiba O'Sensei and Morihiro Saito Shihan. Aikido at the Center is a not-for-profit dojo founded in 1993 by Judith Robinson. Robinson Sensei is a 6th degree black belt with over 30 years of experience.

Claire was a teacher of Aikido Kid's program for nearly twenty years and the Director for most of that time. Her energy, humor and love for aikido built a flourishing program that still lasts today.

Sensei Judith Robinson has thirty years of experience in the martial arts. She is a student of Hans Goto Shihan, who was an uchideshi at Iwama, Japan, training under Morihiro Saito Shihan, 9th dan.
That way you can meet the teacher, we'll show you around, and answer your questions. If your mind is calm and positive, you can create something good out of whatever the universe hands you. Our minimum age is six years old. Attendance in an AikidoKids! class also depends on the child's ability to listen to our instructors.
Our lineage is important to us. We trace our Aikido lineage from Morihei Ueshiba (O'Sensei) to Morihiro Saito Shihan, 9th dan, to Hans Goto Shihan, 7th dan, to our current chief instructor, Judith Robinson Sensei, 6th dan. Aikido was created in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969). Before creating aikido, Uehsiba trained extensively in several varieties of jujitsu and in swordsmanship.

This a great dojo. The instructor is a sixth degree black belt with a lifetime of experience. There are classes for every level of practice from beginner to advanced black belt. Weapons training is integral to the Iwama style aikido taught here. A very friendly and welcoming place. Give it a try, you will be rewarded with a great experience.

I came to Aikido at the Center after 8 years of practice in another style of Aikido across the country. I was originally drawn to this dojo by the wealth of knowledge and skill of the Sensei, their vibrant kids program (the future of a strong dojo), and a welcoming environment. I have been deeply touched by the number of students at all levels that have helped me learn this new style and grow in my Aikido practice. This is my Tucson dojo family.

This is a terrific dojo for the entire family. Both children and adults will find an incredible supportive environment in which all can grow and expand their practice and understanding of traditional Aikido, the Way of Harmony.

I feel Aikido At the Center is a great place to train. A tight nit and open minded traditional marshal arts club where we embrace the teachings of O'sensi and train with intensity and joy. We are open to all levels of marshal and physical ability. Safety comes first above all every time we bow onto the mat. I am privileged to be a long standing member of our club.

Aikido at the Center is a wonderful dojo. The chief instructor is a sixth degree black belt with 30 years of experience in Aikido. The students are all knowledgeable and friendly. They teach kids and adults, so it's a great place for families. The space itself is clean and bright and very well maintained. It's a very welcoming place!
