I've enjoyed my time over the last year living at one of Fortress's properties, called Stark Street Station. It's a nice little neighborhood complex with wonderful landscaping. The neighbors have been welcoming and kind.
When I've had an issue, maintenance or otherwise, I have always felt comfortable emailing the team at Fortress to let them know what's up. I've always received a response, attention to the issue I've mentioned and a follow up to ensure it was completed and that I was happy with the resolution. I live a fairly quiet life and am glad that when I've had an issue, I've felt heard

I had an excellent experience in 2018 with Walnut Grove Apartments!! Because of the big hearted Manager Who gave Me a chance, I got out of homelessness in only 3 months!!
I don't recommend the property anymore, though, the owner got rid of the little amounts of shrubbery/trees left, renovated, & made the apartments more expensive!!!

This management company is a joke that doesn’t care about the regular person. I was never late on my rent For almost 1 1/2 years but when I moved out it took 8 weeks to get my deposit back. Do not deal with this place unless you have money to waste. You will have a hard time getting any where with this company but upset.

UPDATE: After months of ignoring me, three separate people from the company contacted me about this a few days after I posted this review… interesting! I was finally able to get my utility account closed after another month of emails and calls. They said they had “no idea” the account had been left open despite my multiple messages.
However, I see some reviews talking about how helpful Henry is — don’t be fooled! Henry has been sending me gibberish emails since August refusing to refund $50 of double billed utilities even though I have proof that the bill this $50 was for had already

I lived in an apartment through Fortress for the last 1.5 years and thank god I just moved out. I don’t even know where to start… poor management (never had a property manger when I was living their because they would quit so much), maintenance was fast but inexperienced so when they got their they would have no idea what to do, several different maintenance people over the years told us the company was awful and that they were quitting asap, we had countless problems (I know it’s an old building but we deserved a quick response) like our living room ceiling starting to give in and rats in

I had gotten behind on my Rent due to the Covid Pandemic and I thought that I woulkd be getting Evicted well that isn't the case I told them that I have an agency that's going to pay my outstanding balance and couldn't tell them exactly when and it has been no issue they have taken my word for it and have not pressured me my manager Henry even helped me with filling out some forms I needed from him and he had no problem doing that for me I have friends that landlords are putting out on the streets regardless of what they have been told So I'm thankful I'm not. Used to love the way they were with residents but now that I have brought to their attention of over paying rent for over 6 months. They now seem to discriminate against me trying to find everything they can to give me a notice of termination even though they legally couldn't. I guess that's what happens when you speak up

These people are crooks and slum lords. They have zero communication skills, misapply rent payments and offer no support to correct, close maintenance request without completing them and refuse to speak to tenants in a respectful manner. They literally took 7 months to credit a rent payment They were happy to cash the moment it touched there greedy little hands. Please, if your able, find somewhere else to live.

They were an absolute nightmare the entire time we lived there. Insert everything bad you can say about a landlord/ property management company here. When we moved out we were charged for normal wear and tear including a rusty refrigerator door. When I challenged the $250 fee they agreed that there's nothing we could have done to cause it but we have to pay anyway. when i expressed my disappointment the man on the phone started sarcastically taunting me, confident that i had no recourse. Please tell me and everyone reading this how i could have rusted a refrigerator door! stay far away from these

Horrible communication. Fortress Property Management took over ownership of my small apartment complex Fall of 2020. Since then, the property has declined. Multiple requests for repairs and rodent problems. My neighbor had her boyfriend come to pressure wash the front. The trash area is full of rodents and spilled over trash. Back and forth with the office just to get one repair scheduled. Was told I would have to schedule my own washing machine repair after letting them know I need and afternoon/evening time - since I work from home with a child in school from home. Going rounds with management
