Alder Property Management, and in particular Scott Cohn, is the best property manager I’ve had in 35 years of owning small multi-unit residential properties. The best.
That Scott treats tenants well is demonstrated by the extremely low turnover rate in my units. Alder’s concern for tenants (and ultimately, of course, for landlords) is exemplified by the availability of emergency supplies. When a furnace went out during a cold snap, Alder immediately got a space heater out to the unit. Scott also immediately got a replacement for an oven that broke down right before Christmas. I switched to Alder Property Management after being disappointed in my existing property manager 9 years ago, and I've never looked back. They have done an excellent job of vetting renters, inspections before and after renters, keeping up with maintenance, cleaning, etc. They were proactive and worked closely with me when a renter failed to notice a water leak that resulted in water damage and a mold issue. I was shown a house managed by Alder today. I was shocked at the rudeness and unprofessional behavior of the person showing us the home. We were interested in the home but there were aspects of the house that were possible deal-breakers for us. One being that the walls were all painted heinously, I asked if she knew how the owners felt about painting the walls of the home a neutral or white color. (all the walls were differing bright neon colors). The Alder employer made a nasty comment about us being "renters" and insinuating that meant we could have standards for the home we were choosing to
