This is seriously the worst food, Chinese or otherwise, that I have ever had. It was so bad I think I need to bump up any other one star review I've ever done to a two to compensate.

I tried three dishes here and only one was edible, not good, but not completely gross. Their sesame chicken is chewy bits of overly sweet congealed tough meat bits that is pretty much like several other of their dishes but they put sesame seeds on it to make it "sesame chicken". It was hard as rocks and basically a bizarre orange sauce with sesame seeds.
The Mapo tofu was even worse with extremely

Huge dead roach was on floor in dining area. Rice had zero flavor, idk how you make chinese food with no seasoning. No egg or nothin in the fried rice!

This used to be my go to place, but they seem to have stopped trying. Shrimp fried rice had NO scallions, onions, it was just tan rice with shrimp in it. Egg Foo Young was burned (charcoal) on the bottom. Comeon guys, you used to really rock the wock, take a vacation and come back recharged!!!!

It is very, very good and doesn't break the bank. What more can you ask for? I like to order on the phone when I'm almost done shopping at the nearby food lion and then grab dinner. The pork fried rice and egg rolls really hit the spot

Had a hankering for Asian-style noodle dishes, chow mei fun, lo mein, etc. But so wrapped up in long WFH days, got lazy to shop and cook.
Ta-Da this place hit the take out spot! Lightening fast execution. Phone ordered 6 items, 10min flat, waiting for me.
Generous on proteins, including jumbo shrimp, good BBQ pork, tenderized beef, and chicken was ok. Veggies were not over or underdone. Egg roll just fried. Flavors on point.
Online menu needs updated pricing, approx. $0.50-2.00 increases. Even still, decent value compared to other local eats of this genre.

Definitely the worst Chinese in Carrboro. Food was terrible. Chicken super tough. I had to chew each piece for 20-30 seconds. Could barely stick my fork in the stuff. Pork fried rice seemed days old. Spring roll was heated from frozen and mushy. Will not return.

This place was a hit! We ordered an array of dishes and were very impressed across the board. The veggies in each entree were fresh and colorful and the flavors were unique. We especially enjoyed the Beef and Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein. I would definitely recommend - especially if you are like us and look forward to a round two of leftovers (the portion sizes did not disappoint)!

Strip mall Chinese place located in the Timberlyne Shopping Center. I usually stop by to place a carryout order before running into Food Lion next door and it's always ready when I return 15 minutes later. Service is efficient and I've never had an order that was messed up.
I've only ever ordered a small fried rice plus an appetizer or two, so I can't comment on most of the menu. However, everything I've ever had from China Wok is tasty (although not really healthy) and the portion sizes are generous. Decent Chinese food with a varied menu -- the only thing I can think

Understand that what I'm rating here is a small "cheap & fast" Chinese restaurant. For the money -- $6.95 for entree w/fried rice -- the food was outstanding and better than most I've had from this type of restaurant. The egg drop soup was tolerable, the egg roll was good, but the chicken & broccoli was delicious. Will definitely return for more.

Ordered shrimp fried rice with fried chicken wings. My honey got the vegetable fried rice. It's a good take-out place. The wings aren't huge which is great. Egg rolls were good too. We ordered and went to pick up a few grocery items at Food Lion right next door. When we got back our order was ready.

I ordered a delivery through door dash. Within minutes I received a message that my food was on the way. I live less than 10 minutes from the restaurant. When I received it the food was barely warm and gross. I ordered eggrolls and spring rolls and fried dumplings. They must keep them pre cooked and in a warmer. I will never order from again from China wok.

Surprisingly good. I only say that because there is a shortage of really good Chinese food in the area. Stuck with standards like kung pao chicken, which had ample amounts of fresh veggies and mu shu pork that was equally good. The sweet and sour pork (son's choice) a little disappointing in that it was a carton of battered fried pieces of pork, with sweet and sour sauce on the side, minus the pineapple or peppers. They also gave us 3 cartons of rice, which was way more than what we had requested. We ordered on line and food was ready pretty quickly for pick up. Next time will venture

Typical American chinese restaurant with good quality food. My favorite is boneless ribs (barbecue pork). Lunch specials are also good - my only complaint is there's too few meat for some dishes - just a lot of veggies and sauce but most items are delicious.

Delicious food conked quickly. We like the tofu vegetables. They are always cooked perfectly. Their shrimp refills are the best around.

Just read my review from 2010 - and it still applies !

Good, cheap, decent, fast Chinese food. I started going to another similar place nearby due to convenience, but have recommitted to China Wok, even if I'm standing right outside the other place. China Wok's food is better!

We really enjoy buying from our neighborhood Chinese food. Everything we had so far was wonderful, fresh and properly prepared. Nice clean place with friendly stuff that does not mind to help and making sure you get what your want. Highly recommend

I am sitting here with the takeout box in front of me - and I felt compelled to stop what I was doing and write a review of this place. I have been here probably 50 times. I'm not kidding - and only - only because it's down the street from work and has a 99 health rating. That alone has gotten my business. And that's the whole point - I go there for the wrong reasons. There's no other Chinese place in a five mile radius that is both 1) above a 2 star rating and 2) clean. None. So I got to China Wok and am disappointed every.single.time.

The people that work there are lovely

I LOVE Chinese food and this place was just okay. I had general tso's chicken lunch special. Rice had good flavor, chicken was not very good. The breading was not crunchy at all and the sauce was just okay. It seemed as though they cook it in a batch and then just scoop it out as ordered. The crab rangoons was pretty good! Service was what i have seen a lot on the reviews, not very good. I am trying to find a good spot here in the area, another Fail. I probably will not go back. Proceed at your own risk!

I LOVE China Wok. I literally have them listed under 'favorites' in my phone. I also live very close so they are convenient for take-out. I recommend take-out over eating in; the place is very small and staff can be brusque. I always call my order in and they are always ready within the quoted 10-15 minutes.

This is the epitome of cheap, greasy, Americanized Chinese take-out. None of this is authentic and it's all fast and fried. You cannot expect gourmet cuisine from a place like this; only that the food is fried and delicious (does anyone still think that take-out Chinese is

I don't have high expectations for a shopping center chinese food establshment. I'm not jaded, just realistic. I mean, you pay $6.99 for some General Tso's you have to realize you're not getting the freshest or best ingredients. It's fine, I'm o.k. with that. I have an iron stomach and questionable judgement - it's a gift.

However, one thing that I do expect is friendliness. I'm a paying customer. I'm polite. I say please, thank you, yes sir/ma'am. Is it too much to ask for eye contact and some sort of recognition that I'm on the other side

Y'all this was bad. Like, if you respect yourself, you may not feel well after the feelings this food makes you feel.

I mean, yeah the general tso's chicken and fried rice all tasted fine (I guess??). It's just the "chicken" was maybe almost non-existent. There may have been a particle of chicken deep fried in so much batter that I could hardly tell. So it tasted like good junk food that was kind of addicting. I ate half of it before I started asking myself why I would do this. Same thing with the pork fried rice. Kind of alright, with these tiny perfectly shaped

I ordered the garlic vegetables and added tofu, and you know what, it was good. In most other towns, this would be an unremarkable praise. However, we are in Carrboro/Chapel Hill, which has an unreasonable amount of terrible Thai/Chinese/Asian cuisine.

The food was hot, fresh, and not overly oily. The portions were generous, the price was low. I really don't think there's much more you can ask for from a place that'll serve you lunch for under $6.

This place is infinitely better than Jade Palace, Spicy 9 (which is the worst, the literal worst), Akai Hana, or the perennially overrated
