At Glasshalfull, we believe that every great glass of wine (or beer or cocktail) deserves a delicious accompaniment. Our seasonal American cooking uses the freshest local ingredients to create a healthy, Mediterranean-inspired feast. We are thrilled to announce that our dining room and patio have reopened for lunch and dinner service.
Services
Glasshalfull is a contemporary American restaurant, bar, and wine shop located in downtown Carrboro. Both the food and the wine selection are influenced by the cuisine of the Mediterranean, and the menu features ingredients from valued local purveyors. Glasshalfull's menu changes regularly depending on what is in season, and the dishes are meant to be enjoyed with wine or spirits.
It's fun to compare New and Old World sauvignon blancs or taste a flight of Spanish wines from different regions and grapes. Our list changes often, but if you're not satisfied with our choices, browse the wine shop and be your own sommelier. We invite you to browse the wine shop for additional selections and will gladly assist you in choosing a bottle to drink with dinner or to take home.
We're pleased to announce the opening of Glasshalfull Mercantile. We've expanded our wine shop into a small market that offers pantry items and more for you to enjoy at home! We'll continue to carry our curated list of wines from throughout the world but are also stocking more value wines at lower price points for easy sipping and every-day wine drinking!

Ambiance is great, staff is lovely, service quick and love thw fair eage policy but it all stops about there unfortunately. I really wanted to give more stars but the food and drinks are terribly disappointing. Portion sizes are good and they have good variation in menu items but just overall very bland. Cocktails are just given a quick shake with no straining...suppose I might be a bit snobby about seeing a ton of regular ice cubes in my old fashion. But to me, having that one giant ice cube in an old fashion is very much a part of the recipe and how to avoid a diluted mess.

We ordered our Thanksgiving lunch from them and it was great. The ordering process was great. The scheduling and pick up was flawless. Everyone loved the meal. The turkey was so tender and tasty. The gravy, stuffing and mashed potatoes were outstanding. Heating everything up was simple and easy. Thank you for making our Thanksgiving great and easy!

I rarely give this many stars. One star off for the table location next to the door. Service was excellent. Attentive, knowledgeable but not pretentious like some other Carrboro restaurants. I can say that too since I am from here. The drinks did not disappoint, my wife liked her martini and thought the drinks were good. The Final Verdict drink was a hit with our fellow diners. For appetizers we had the hand cut fries and brussel sprouts. Both were excellent. We all gravitated toward the seafood for our main course. Crab cake, swordfish, tuna, and scallops all were excellent. The desserts of apple

Loved it. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the wine, as expected, and the choices were delicious and reasonably priced. Seating outside was lovely. But it was the food that made the evening. The ratatouille in particular was exceptional. Ate every last morsel. One little flaw was that the waiter presented the check to the man even though the woman presented the credit card (or the waiter could have put the check down between us). Other than that though a great place for an end-of-the-week meal. Highly recommended. We'll return.

Not our original destination (lots of other places are closed on Monday during the summer. First time back in many years, and glad we stopped in. Half-price bottles of wine on Monday's just makes it better.
I had the fritto misto, tasty but too much 'fry' for my taste. My wife had the Niçoise salad, and the tuna was excellent.
Very friendly wait staff as well.
Looking forward to working GlassHalf back into our rotation.

Graduation party of 10. First the good:
Service was spot on. Drinks were top notch. Quail was perfectly cooked. As was the duck. All the appetizers were great... we had them all... but the Brussels sprouts were the best.
Now the bad: PLEASE TAJE THAT RUBBERY RIBEYE OFF THE MENU. I realize that these places, Crooks included, feel they HAVE to have a steak for the men folk?!? Try a nice flat iron. And forget the fries?!? I understand it's A Thing.... but is a bad thing. Was impossible to cut... much less chew. The desserts were heavy on the sugar... I know it's a dessert.... but

Glasshalffull offers a wonderful fine dining experience with an intimate and professional ambiance. The service was always on par and the drink choices quite nice. And yes of course they have an extensive wine list. The food is well done and mostly American styles of cooking but offer a kick of flavor. The prices though are a bit more than one would expect so be prepared for a decent bill. Great spot for afternoon drinks or a celebratory dinner.

Everything was wonderful, except that their system for payment would not accept a cash gratuity for my waitress. Who knows if they would have accepted cash for my dinner, which was quite expensive for one guy. I felt badly for my server, because I would have given her more than the allotted 5%, 10%, or 20% allowed on the company iPad. More like 30-50% in cash gratuity. It’s a good thing I am not local, because I would hesitate returning for that simple and basic demerit.

I think Glasshalfull is suffering from an identity crisis. Part of it seems like it wants to be a Carrboro chic wine bar that would be best served by a small but tastefully selected tapas menu...the other part wants to be a super fancy 5-star restaurant, the kind with artfully presented fancy dishes in multiple courses. Unfortunately, these don't coincide very well.
The food just didn't cut it for me for the price. The plates are incredibly expensive for the serving that you get - and I was missing some sort of explosive or interesting flavor to make up for that. We tried the pumpkin

So I have been meaning to try this place out for some time now... finally made it here, yay!
Overall: Ambiance is very nice -- I would categorize this under a nice date spot
I had the lobster rolls and I just loved them! They were very good.. I would come back just to have that again
Crabmeat Mac & Cheese-- also very delicious
Dessert: they had this special that night, with strawberries and icecream.. I am really not sure what it was called.. but it was very very good as well
Verdict: if you haven't tried this place, then definitely come here and try it out-- you will not regret it
