Pop's Backdoor Restaurant

Pops is your average pizza joint. Our pizza was a little undercooked and less crispy than we would have liked. Crust is flaky and yummy and they have fresh and flavorful toppings with lots of options. Also got a salad which was surprisingly good. Id go back but I wouldn't crave it.

If you want a simple authentic cheese NY pizza, Pop's Backdoor will not disappoint!! What a great pizza!!

New to Durham & this is by far the best pizza I've had in the area!! The Granny pizza/calzone & Brussels are my personal favorite but everything I've tried has been delicious

Pizza is very good. For takeout, do check your order before you leave. When they are busy, sometimes orders get mixed up.

Wow, I assumed since it still carries the Pop's moniker, still serves some of their origin pizza combos and has truffle oil (eye roll) on the menu that the food would be good. Wow was I wrong with a capital Wrong...the absolutely worst Chicken Parm I've ever had. It was so bad I took a picture thinking I'd email or post a review and then decided it just wasn't worth it....until this morning when another member of the household mentioned how awful there food was as well - the Philly Cheesesteak...sad, how do you serve bad cheesesteak and chicken parm??

I remember being excited when they first opened up because they were an offshoot of the beloved Pop's restaurant in the Brightleaf Square area. I even remember getting and enjoying a pizza and applauding the fact that there was now a good pizza joint in this part of Durham. I had a coupon and called in my order for takeout on a drizzly Monday evening. I brought my coupon with me, showed it to the counterperson, and had no problems with the payment and pickup experience. The portions are nice and big, flavor is always amazing!! Food even always looks great and appetizing.... I definitely recommend that if you want some good Italian to try pops back door.

Got pizza from this place while in town, and it was so good. It's very fresh, and the crust is one of the best around.

Excellent choice for anyone that cant decide on anything particular. They have everything from wings, garlic bread, onion rings and more

Been here a few times in the past only ordering the veggie lovers pizza and thought it was just all right. Today my roommates and I switched it up with the salty egg and prosciutto pizza and the granny's brie and apple pizza. Everything was really good, every time we ate at the restaurant in the past the employees were really nice, and with the virus this time we were able to order contact-free delivery left at our doorstep which is appreciated. Their wings are also delicious. The granny's pizza is overall the star of their menu, though!

All I wanted was to have a good Italian style dinner that I didn't have to prepare myself and you know support a local business. I ordered a chicken parm, meatball parm and a garlic bread pomodoro.

Garlic bread pomodoro not even worth almost $6 I think it should be $2.50 for quality and quantity.

Oh and you know what I didn't smell, anything Italian (you know that fresh pizza smell) in the store and I stopped while walking out the door just to make sure.

Pops has a GREAT brie and apple pizza. Happy I tried this particular pizza. I keep going back for it!! Unique!! So glad I found this place. The young guy who works the counter is so positive and nice.

This food is terrible. Maybe it's an off night for them. This is the first time we ordered from them through Grubhub. We got the shrimp Po Boy sandwich and the Italian grinder. The shrimp tasted fishy and the sausage in the Italian was disgusting. We wound up going to Cookout to get burgers. What a waste of money!

Amazing pizza, fries, and wings:) only ordered delivery but it was incredible. Everything was hot, fresh, and exceeded my expectations for a pizza delivery. Highly recommend!
