I’ve never tasted curry this terrible . I ordered the Eggplant Curry takeout and it was AWFUL- had a bad look and smell to it couldn’t tell if it was yellow green or red looked like they threw all of them in. I also ordered a crunchy roll but it wasn’t cooked all the way leaving it greasy and doughy.. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Ordered drunken noodles. These were bland, flavorless and missing many of the usual items in drunken noodles. The protein I ordered was shrimp and the shrimp were barely cooked. It was very disappointing. My partner got a salmon and avocado roll that was equally lackluster. The side salad was good and the dressing they used was delightful! I will try this place one or two more times before making a definitive decision on making them a regular in my Thai rotation.

Just tried for the first time tonight. My group got hibachi chicken, sesame chicken and sushi. Everybody loved everything they got. I have high standards for hibachi, and my chicken and rice was by far the best I have had. I would choose this over Kanki, which was my previous go to. Comes with a salad with amazing ginger dressing. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants.

We got take out at about 12:30 in the afternoon.Very fast service, good fresh sushi. They received a 9.6 health rating 2/4/20. Very good! My wife and I got the Sashimi Lunch,Fire Work(special roll) and the Pineapple Fried Rice. All were very good. We eat sushi often and the Only 2 things that could be improved upon:
one ;the salad, the entrees came with a choice of miso soup or salad, the salad was simply iceberg lettuce, there wasn’t any other vegetables
two;not enough ginger with the rolls.
When asked for a choice of the salad or the Miso Soup , get the soup. And ask for extra ginger.

I have searched the triangle area for the best Futomaki sushi. It is an old style sushi that takes some time and skill to make. It was my very favorite when I lived in San Francisco and it is still my favorite today. Vine sushi makes it the original style with fresh ingredients, sushi rice, and holding true to the tradition. It is the very best Futomaki in the area. I have also had the sweet potato sushi which is vegetarian and very good. The people are extremely nice and when the crisis is over, I would highly recommend a visit. Until that time, take out is available and operating well.

We chose this place hastily as our first choice did not work out. The menu is IMMENSE (reminded me of Sushi Iwa). In general I do not like a menu that has this many choices (most of them repeating and in various combinations) because it is simply confusing. The restaurant was empty at 12:30 pm which we found surprising and a little concerning. During our lunch only one other couple showed up and that was when we were almost finished. Our waiter, Kai was eccentric but sweet and he was definitely a champion of Vine. He was eager to please and we appreciated him. They were very good about making

Ordered takeout, hibachi beef and miso soup. I always stick with the classics the first time I order off a new menu, so this seemed appropriate.
Hibachi beef comes with the rice on the side and no sauce on it. While this detail is minor, it made a little bit of a difference in the experience for me. The miso soup and the sauce were both really tastey, but the beef was very dry and the veggies were a little too soggy. The dish was very bland without the sauce, which I had to pay extra for.
Haven't tried their sushi, so I'm still open to this place, but I didn't love my first experience

Excellent selection of sushi with several Thai and Japanese-style hibachi options for those who aren't sushi fans. I had sushi and was impressed with the freshness of the fish as well as the selection of rolls that were not dependent on tempura, mayo, and cream cheese. Limited wine and beer menu. Restroom was "broken" the evening we were there. Not sure how a business gets past the health inspectors with no restroom, but whatever. I guess you can go around the corner to Whole Foods. Walking distance from campus.

Vegans/vegetarians beware - pretty much all of their tofu/veggie options actually are NOT veg-friendly. Their sauces are pre-made, so you cannot order a vegetable or tofu curry without fish sauce, and a ton of their sauces also use chicken stock. As a vegan, I literally had one choice on the entire menu: a very bland dish of "hibachi" vegetables (sans sauce) with rice.
Even their miso is pre-made to contain fish ingredients. Vine, please try to be a little bit more accommodating for those who do not eat animal products - to make nearly ALL of your tofu dishes with fish and/or chicken

Overall a great experience. This was my first time there and was recommended by a friend, which joined me. We were sat immediately and the dining area was almost empty. We arrived around 7:30. Our server was friendly, prompt, and very knowledgeable. We order beers that came in bottles and were give cold glasses, a bonus. The menu is both sushi and Thai food. My friend ordered a Thai dish and was pleased with it, even though he said it could be spicier. I ordered sushi. They have several option BOGO, combos plates, or ala carte. I had the 3 roll combo. 3 rolls from a specific selection of rolls

Just placed an order from Vine Sushi and Thai of Durham.....found a fruit fly in my miso soup halfway through the meal (anyone who knows me already knows I basically started gagging on site)....we call the restaurant in a very calm manner requesting a partial or full refund. They offer us another soup or salad...now why in the world would I want another soup or salad?!? Another lady gets on the phone, has an attitude for no reason as if we are calling to scam them out of money. I told her we did not want another soup or salad and that I would like her to give my name and number to the owner, who

I am the customer who lives in Raleigh but I am a frequent customer of this restaurant.
The sushi here is amazing, the sushi chef is really sophisticated doing what's the ingredients is and the complete sushi always makes my mouth watering.
besides that, their Thai food is the items that you can not miss, each time I always order Pad Thai and never ever let me down, I am pretty sure that is the best Pad Thai in Durham area.
There still have more to explore, why don't you give it a try?

I've only visited this place once, but it was a good experience. I went with a couple of friends around noon and expected a wait. It was very quiet, and we received quick and attentive service. This could be because it was the summer, and the campus was nearly empty.
There were a lot of options for lunch, and the menu was reasonably priced. I got the Bento box and was very pleased with the serving size and quality. I would highly recommend it for a nice variety for under $10.

I'm not saying I would eat here again I just a bit of a bother when I visited. It could bc I was alone and working on work emails, when I asked if I should get the Panang Curry or Red I was told they didn't know bc they don't like spicy which is fair. But I truly was waiting for this meal all day and just wanted advice. When I received the Panang curry it was good but I did have to add some soy for salt and chili sauce (I expected the color to be more reddish) but I do have to note it was a great portion and the flavor was there. I would most likely order out next time as I enjoy

This restaurant is close to work, so I tried it for lunch on a workday. It wasn't very crowded (though I often do lunch on the late side), so I got seated immediately. My appetizer (egg rolls) and entree (sesame chicken) were good enough. The service was prompt, but my server barely said anything to me (in a tired sort of way). I'll probably give it another try since it's so close to work, and because I love Asian food.
Parking is a little tight, especially with several nearby spaces marked for compact cars. (Seriously!) Vine shares parking with several businesses, so bring your

Stopped here recently for sushi and a bento box take-out. Really a pretty solid meal - always surprised at how much food the bento boxes offer for a reasonable price, seems like more than half of it remains as leftovers any time I go that route. Reasonable prices, nice diversity of sushi offerings, and solid bento box. Would try again!

The sushi deal is fantastic. It's BOGO for their specialty rolls and they have a 2/$9 and 3/$12 for their regular rolls. We bought four specialty rolls and three rolls for $43.00 as take out. They gave a hearty size of miso soup with the 3/$12 deal. But the blue Hawaii was by far one of the most flavorful sushi I have ever had!!

My score for this place?
Blah.
Service 3/5. Can't understand the attitude. I came here to spend money. So like a few others have reviewed - the arrogant, snobby treatment of your customers isn't justified and neither are teenage sighs, and eye rolls accompanied when asking about sushi prices. Our lackluster waitress clearly would have rather been somewhere else than serving tables and suddenly you begin to find that HER attitude brings yours down as well. The waitress may be having a crappy day, so now they're gonna make you have one as well. You won't want to "bother" her to ask for refills

I have been going to vine for a few years now and have never had any issues with the quality of the food before! While I had only been getting my food to go, yesterday I decided to eat in with my boyfriend.
We are "greeted" by a girl at the host stand and she doesn't say hello or welcome to vine but rather "only 2?" We say yes there's only 2 of us and she brings us to our table. A few minutes later the same girl comes to our table while literally scratching her armpit and asks "what are we drinking"... she comes back with our drinks and we say we need

If I could give them zero stars I would!
I have lived in Durham my whole life and at 27 I hesitantly came here for the first time. It was a large mistake.
This is by far the worst sushi restaurant in Durham. I ordered a Spider Roll and when it came to the table the majority of the roll consisted of lettuce. I have never seen lettuce like this in an form of sushi. The other rolls that came to the table were small and lacking. All of there soups are very similar in style and lack flavor. The soy sauce they use as the tables seem to be water down and lacked any flavor other then salt.

I personally just came here for the sushi. I mean it was BOGO! My friends and I just got 6 rolls and I can't even tell you which one it was because the waiter never explained to us which was which, but I must say they were all delicious! I did order the dragon eel, blue hawaii, dancing eel roll, and angel hair! (I forgot what the other two were) The blue hawaii had mango in it which definitely tasted the most unique but it was still good. Each roll was very fresh which I liked. Wish I knew which ones I liked the most were though :/ Either way you definitely should check this place out!
