Absolutely love West 86th Hair Designs and stylist Riley Beard specifically! After moving to the area I was desperate to find a new stylist that could help me navigate my hair color/cut at an affordable price point. West 86th was the answer. Riley always makes me feel so good when I come in, even if I have no clue what I want! She takes the time to make sure you leave looking and feeling great. A little pricey but I don't mind paying for good quality. They sure do take their time on your hair, and actually care for it, I would recommend.

Honestly I hate leaving a negative review because this salon has been nothing but great with my haircuts, but only haircuts and the people so nice ….Rhonda dyed my hair 3 years ago, it was my first time getting it dyed, needless to say it was the worst hair dye ever, there were chunks of bleach yellow hair and my hair is super dark, went back to get it fixed, and it turned out like a red purple and i wanted a brown balayage….I went 2 years without straightening and getting hair treatments at a different salon… my hair now has never been healthier but she really fried my hair and made my hair

I relocated to Indy a few months ago from Austin, TX and decided to try this salon out. I am thoroughly impressed! This salon is top notch! The atmosphere, aesthetics, cleanliness, and professionalism are that of the big name salons! My stylist listened to what I was asking and delivered above my expectations. I am so happy with my new cut! If you are looking for a place to get an awesome cut and knowledgeable stylist, look no more. I am now a customer of Olivia Ashwill for as long as I remain in Indy!

I decided to try this salon after seeing good reviews online (I am usually nervous about trying a new place and hadn't had my hair cut since before Covid). I am so glad I did! Getting an appointment online was easy and convenient. My stylist was Riley and she was fantastic! She took time to understand my hair and my preferences. She really knows her stuff. I felt completely comfortable and am really happy with my hair. The salon is very nice and although they were pretty busy, it didn't feel crowded or rushed. I will definitely return!

Want to feel fabulous and well pampered? Come here. I found my amazing stylist Riley and I have never met someone so personable. She always has amazing ideas on how to keep my hair healthy. She has fantastic ideas to compliment my face shape and skin and natural red hair. The rest of the staff is so welcoming and king. I never feel out of place and always feel like my best self when I leave! I wish I could give them ALL the stars.

Time for a review update! My last pre-Covid haircut was in February 2020...and after 15 months, I was basically rocking a ponytail every day and this was getting old...I mean who cares on Zoom, but I'm starting to go into work more now, so I was so happy to take my fully vaccinated self to. finally get a haircut! They are taking things seriously here. Everyone, staff and customers, all wore masks, and the place is big making it easy to keep everyone spread out.

Riley is the absolute best! She is so knowledgeable about different types of hair and the products that will work best. She truly makes all of her clients feel beautiful in her chair. She really takes the time to get to know you and understand what you want. I could not recommend her enough!

Was lucky enough to get an appointment within the hour with Norma. She is a fantastic and asks you your vision for your hair and then helps you see how it's possible. The place is extremely clean, proper COVID precautions are taken, and a great price and quality for your haircut.

I usually don't go to a salon to get my haircut but wanted to try something new. Take me to Great Clips and I'm good. While the visit was not unpleasant, I felt rushed. I don't think I got the best haircut I could have. I guess it's normal to hate your hair after it's cut. Lol
Otherwise the place is super clean and very nice. I think next time I will book an appointment with an Expert Stylist.

Riley was absolutely incredible. She was super informative and very knowledgeable about how to help my dry hair and give me a cut that complimented my round face. They have great customer service, the salon itself is so clean and classy feeling. From greeting to checkout I felt special and important there! I can't wait to go back and get a trim

Went for first time. I was a little nervous. But I like trying new things. So I seenClorrissa and she did exactly what I asked for my hair to be done. I was so happy and pleased literally ecstatic when I seen my hair and how beautiful it look afterwards I will definitely be back to see her. She is awesome

I had never been to this salon before and it was a step up from the usual cheap chain salons I frequent. I checked in and sat down, got lost in an article I was reading, then I noticed half an hour had passed without my name being called. I was miffed! The person I had an appointment with had not shown up for work and no one checked on that when I came in. The front desk staff were very apologetic and got me in right away with Stachia, who was absolutely wonderful. She talked to me about what I liked and carefully examined my hair, which is long and very curly. The hair cut was perfect- I have

First time at West 86th Hair Designs. Lauren took about 5 inches off and I have a lovely bob haircut. She understood my hair. I have fine hair with a bit of curl. A really good precision cut - it still looked good when I styled it myself! You know it's a good cut when you don't have to be a stylist yourself to make it look good!

I have tried several stylists and they do great work. However, there is a level of professionalism lacking starting at the front desk. Calling to make or change an appointment can be such a hassle.

While waiting, several stylists spent time negatively complaining about a customer. This is very unprofessional.

I found out about Clorissa @ West 86th Hair Design while listening to the Bob & Tom radio program (Q95 fm). She was actually a guest on the show when their regular host, Scott Potasnik's obsession with 'perfect hair' was featured. He's SO EXTREMELY particular about his hair cuts that sometimes his cuts take over an hour as he directs her 'hair by hair'. His hair has been the subject of many hours on Bob & Tom. (I wouldn't mention Scott's habits unless it wasn't discussed on the show. Clorissa NEVER talks about her clients, she's very professional

So, I'm a serial Great Clips/Fantastic Sams/Cost Cutters customer. I hate having to make an appointment and wait, when I decide my fried ends need to go, they need to go! Plus, I'm cheap.
