Sign of the Tymes Salon has been helping people look and feel their best for over 30 years in the Indianapolis area. Salon owner and lifelong Indianapolis East-sider, Valerie Ellis, first opened the salon in 1987 at 71st and Keystone, in 1996 moved to Broad Ripple, in 2011 we relocated near Glendale Town Center and in 2016 purchased our current location at 2881 E. 56th.

In order to serve our clients the best, when you have a scheduled appointment time, that time is reserved for you and only you. We ask that you respect our time as much as we respect yours. If you forget or decide to forgo your appointment for whatever reason, you will be considered a "no show."

Valerie is great. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 20 years. I take my two daughters to her as well. She always makes sure I am happy with the results. She offers opinions on color choices. I trust Valerie so much that there have been times when i just tell her to pick a good color for me and I havent been disappointed.

'I Feel like a Woman'. Let's face it, it's been a rough year. So, I treated myself to a luxurious hair wash and style. And, I feel like a new woman. Valerie is a perfectionist. Very knowledgeable, creative and friendly. I really needed a consult on the best way to give my hair body and bounce, and Valerie came through for me! I highly recommend this charming salon.. 5 star performance!

I called here on a Tuesday at 11:10 and Valerie was able to get me in at 11:50! I can honestly say she gave me the best haircut I've had in my 22 years of living. I can finally feel confident with my hairstyle. Even though it was my first time meeting Valerie, she made me feel as comfortable as if I had known her for years.

Oh my goodness... Katie did a brazilian wax for me, my 1st ever, front and back she had me out of there in less than 10min. the staff was very friendly and didn't mind my blurting profanities through the service... i highly recommend this place and Katie! i've already recommended to most of my friends and coworkers.

I purchased a Groupon for 1 Brazilian wax for this salon and they managed to squeeze me in the same day I purchased it and called - awesome! And on a Saturday, which I thought would be a long shot. The girl who did my Brazilian wax was GREAT, best wax I've received since getting Brazilian waxes, and I've tried about four different places. She was quick, thorough and virtually painless. I swear the whole service couldn't have taken more than 20 minutes. I was so impressed. I plan on purchasing another Groupon ASAP and I've been recommending her to everyone.
