Wow...this company is completely unethical. After robbing our daughter & fiancé of their $50 fee for a credit check for an apt they were interested in renting...they then demanded that they send in a large deposit to secure this apt WITHOUT a rental agreement or any commitment of any sort on their part. Really? ...and they get away with doing "business" this way? These are not honest, ethical business dealings. If I could give this company a "0" I certainly would. Run away from these people! Never have I ever dealt with a rental company that operates this way. Red flags

My granddaughter and I rented a property off of Hwy 224. They will only show property in the morning. The reason was soon obvious. The traffic on 224 is horrible. Often you cannot turn left, you must make three right hand turns after maybe getting out of the drive. We were told that the trucking company stops at 5:00, big lie, they go all night. The trucks back up with the beep beep beep. They wash and fuel the trucks with much noise. One night a truck was idling on the other side of the and you could not open your window because of the diesel fumes. A week before 100 degree temps were forecasted

The absolute worst, shadiest landlord experience of my life. Before signing the lease, I read some negative reviews, including a Willamette Week article accusing them of being slumlords (Google it), and dismissed them thinking those tenants were probably just an unreasonable minority. Big mistake... I should have listened to them, and so should you.

First red flag: While most landlords take the deposit at time of signing, Aetna wanted a huge cashiers check up front "to hold the space." I gave it to them reluctantly, but this would later become a recurring theme: it's Aetna&apos

I would also give them zero stars if I could. At first I saw all the negative reviews and thought to myself "it can't be that bad, the only people who review are people who are dissatisfied with their service." But after dealing with them, I want to contribute my own cautionary tale.
Before signing the lease, they were very responsive. That was until they got a pretty large deposit that was only accepted by them in a cashiers check. After that, it took quite a few phone calls to set a date to sign the lease. They don't have an office and the mailing address is a PO box. Naturally

Don't rent from these people! They charge you huge late fees if you're even a day late. Everything must be sent in the mail, even maintenance requests. When you have questions they just forward you to voicemail instead of someone's actual phone.
They didn't even pay their garbage bill up to when I moved in so I was out an extra $60. And they have refused to pay it despite several calls and letters sent to their P.O box.

Watch out these guys are dishonest ! They ask for a $1500 nonrefundable holding deposit, before giving you a copy of the lease terms. Then if u accept the lease, only then, do they agree it's a security deposit. Also, they bait and switch. The place for rent I was interested in is listed on Craig's list for $1595. Yet, in their web site, it says $1895. Which is totally illegal. They refused me a copy of the hoa terms. I could go on and on, there is no office. Everything is done via snail mail for a reason. One person was late they said ,one day on paying rent and they gave an eviction

Avoid this company like the plague. Expect fees on top of fees on top of fees. Your rent check is a day late because the 1st falls on a Sunday? We'll expect a $50 fine because it's still technically late. Should have had it mailed and delivered on the 30th of the previous month. What a joke!

One of the sketchier operations in town. Their gambit is to force you to reserve your apartment with a huge nonrefundable deposit, payable only by cashier's check, separate from your rental application fee and security deposit. It sounds ridiculous and shady, and is. Housing is scarce in Portland, sure, but I'd avoid this company.

These people wasted a week of my time. They are gamers watch yourself with them. They have no office here in town the Johns landing is some kind of sketchy office rent as you use it. It's best to rent form some one else.

I rented a very nice downtown condo through AETNA Properties for 4 year and 5 months. I never had to contact them for any service or maintenance requests as the condo building was pretty new and well constructed, however when I did have issues with a $150 late fee (rent check arrived at their office one day after the due date grace period) and then when I finally had questions about the move out procedure, they were incredibly difficult to get a hold of and never answered the phone, you have to leave a voice message each time you call and are luck to get a call back. I left my condo in immaculate

Also would rate this company as a zero if it were possible. We trusted them to help our daughter and their friends find a safe and enjoyable leased apartment near their college. Horrific experience. The company totally dropped the ball with terrible communication and follow-through. Left the girls high and dry with no recourse regarding housing. No communication at all when the property they had applied for was leased to another party. No good explanation and no help. Sad that you can't trust people to follow through and do their jobs.......

I had a great experience with Aetna Properties! My boyfriend and I rented a townhouse for a year in Portland. It was beautiful, clean, in a great location and we had no problems with Aetna management. We would have stayed there for years if it weren't for us moving out of state. As long as you follow their process and fill out the appropriate forms for repairs or service needs, they are extremely reliable and responsive. When we needed our gas fireplace repaired, I mailed in the request form in and Aetna called me within 2 days and scheduled someone to come out and fix it that week. We

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. This is an apartment rental agency and they are awful to deal with. They don't return phone calls or emails.
The washer dryer combo leaked the first time I used it so I called them to let them know. Their response was "the dryers aren't vented properly so you have to take the hose out and drain it in a bucket." Are you effing kidding me? That's not even up to code!!!! My dad came to fix it since they never responded after that. Nice.
They tell you one thing and do another (like keep your money!!).
Don't rent from them ever
