Papa's Thai Cafe is a wonderful restaurant! With a very expansive menu and lots to try, I'm excited to come back to this spot. I tried the fried tofu and spicy basil (I ordered it mild however) and they were both delicious. The basil dish was very light and refreshing. It wasn't greasy at all and the vegetables were lightly grilled so they still had a nice crunch to them. The fried tofu was paired with a nice sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was a bit runnier than other sweet and sour sauces I've had, but the flavor was still good.

This is the best Thai food in slo. They owner is the most friendly person who has created a restaurant that serves amazing food everytime. I usually get pad Thai and yellow curry. I am an enthusiast for yellow curry and they make the best one around, definitely my favorite. If your looking for good Thai food in slo, this is where you should go. By far the best! - From an avid customer.

David and Pim are amazing and so is their food. My husband and I have been here twice and the past 3 days. Yes, they are legit.
We had their pad thai, Khao soi, and pineapple fried rice. All 3 things were delicious but I will say the Khao soi might be a bit spicy but it is super good regardless. Just a heads up for those who can't eat spicy food.
Overall they are super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back!!!

I used to make a chili that I called "Gotta Go Chile"as whatever was in the refrigerator or pantry (corn, brisket, etc) got-to-go in the chili.
This lead-in to a delicious mystery soup was served to us today. It has noodles, scallions, wonton, fish sauce, garlic ( I think there is larb but, I could be wrong) and other tasty morsels. The mélange of flavors and textures play well together (and it is so tasty)!
The soup is not formally on the menu. If you are able to order it your tastebuds will be happy.

Went to the restaurant last night to place an order. My coworker has been telling me about this place, so I had to try it. I am allergic to shrimp and wanted to order noodles and the chef/ owner came out and told me they can’t serve me because everything they make is contaminated with shrimp. So basically they don’t clean there pans before there next order.
So please be aware if you are vegetarian or allergic because they don’t want to take the time to clean there pans.

Pretty good and quick. Workers helped with any questions we had. Water refills were frequent and check ins from the staff were good. Parking around the area is a bit rough on the street as there isn't a crazy amount immediately available. The parking lot next to the place is for residents and gym goers so if you're just picking up it might work.

*WARNING* don't eat here if you are allergic to shellfish or a vegetarian! This Thai place is contaminated with shellfish in all their dishes. The owner ensure is that all Thai is contaminated with meat!! Well I guess all the vegan and vegetarian dishes are out and will make you sick. We ordered the crispy tofu which had the crunchiest exterior and fluffy inside. The sweet plum sauce paired surprisingly well. Normally, I am a fan of spicy sauces but found the sweet dipping sauce to surprisingly satisfying.

This Thai place was the best! The owner is super friendly. He recommended a couple dishes - the Khao Soi and the Pra Ram as specialties. It was a hot day so I went with the Pra Ram and it was incredible! I would definitely order this dish again and again.
Hubs had the Pad Thai, per usual, and loved it.

I love local restaurants where the owners learn your face (and/or) name. I've only been to Papa's Thai on a handful of occasions over the past year, but each experience gets better and better.
My favorite menu items are the Crab Cheese appetizer and the Pad See Ew. The crab cheese are fried wontons filled with a generous amount of cream cheese and crab meat (possibly imitation, I didn't ask nor mind). They're always very fresh and hot.

Love this Thai restaurant! We got the pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Their noodle texture is a bit different than I'm use to, it's super chewy but I love it. This is a personal preference but chewy noodles are just better! And the noodle absorbed all the sauce everything was jam packed with flavor. I got mine with tofu and the tofu was super crispy, although just one slight thing is that I wish the tofu had a bit more flavor or absorbed a bit more of the sauce. Otherwise everything else was perfect!

Papa’s Thai is the best! They use fresh ingredients and know how to bring them together! Their food is absolutely delicious. My favorites are the yellow & red curries and crab wontons, but I’ve eaten many other items from Papa’s Thai and it’s all been good. I love that you can rank spice from 1 to 5. I order 1 for the kids, 5 for me, and the husband can mix together to suit him! Their brown rice is the absolute best. The people at the counter are reliably kind and friendly.
