I would recommend Phoenix or any other MMA spot in the area.
Edit: I wasn't let go, Prof Adam cares more about money and "dedication" (i.e. if you literally cannot get there, not if it's difficult, not if you have other things going on, he will treat you less than you deserve). It was a mutual decision. If you are a quick learner and love the sport, you will outgrow this school very, very quickly.

The instructor, Adam, and the co-instructor, Roxanne, are super knowledgeable. They're also honest about what they don't know, and spend time outside of class learning and perfecting techniques so that they can come back and teach them well. Their patience is also incredible. They've found the perfect level of patience, so that you can perfect a technique, while also pushing you so you always have to adapt to get better. Its a great place if you plan to compete or want to learn about self defense, but is also a great workout.

Sensei Adam is an awesome teacher. It's nice to come to class and be able to genuinely have a good time while learning new techniques. He definitely works you and pushes you to make you better, stronger, and more effective. But he makes it fun! As a complete beginner to both kickboxing and grappling, it can be super intimidating to make the leap to take the first class. Once I got there, it wasn't intimidating at all and one class was all it took to get me hooked! If you're hesitant at all to try it, just know that the atmosphere is super welcoming and it's a whole lot of fun!
