Set on the historic campus of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone, Gatehouse Restaurant showcases the extraordinary talents of our CIA student-chefs after two years of rigorous study. Utilizing local produce sourced from the college's own gardens, and other high-quality ingredients, they create a unique dining experience that is unmatched in the Napa Valley.
Inspired by the changing seasons and what's ripe in our garden, the students create a menu that highlights produce at its peak of freshness, sustainably raised meat and seafood, local ingredients, and other high-quality provisions made from scratch.

Nice staff and professional service. Me and my partner met up with friends for dinner in Napa, and this was their recommendation. The food was flavorful, and the presentation was beautiful. Don't come expecting full portions, because this is more of a tasting menu. Our friend is also a wine connoisseur so we ended up with a $100 bottle of delicate red wine on our table. The perfect fine-dining experience!

You cannot beat this place for value for dollar. You're going to get the food from chefs that are going to be at your favorite restaurant, just at a much reduced price. For dinner, being able to get four courses for $55 is incredible treat in Napa. It is one of my must stop places when we are visiting various wineries that we are members of.

Torn between three and four stars. Pros: good food, very well priced prix fixe menu, and excellent super-fresh ingredients.
Cons: amateur service, and expensive wines. The 20% tip inclusion in the bill also didn’t resonate well with their “no tipping” policy (they are all students after all). Lastly, the gatehouse is a small space, separate from the main hall of the Culinary Institute.

Wow! This restaurant is amazing. The food is very good. The Julia's feast is prepared just right... the chicken is moist and juicy. The red sauce or provencal was tasty. The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery and super delish. Order vegetables on the side because they generally do not come with the dish. The winners are very good and they have a great selection. The desserts are also amazing. We ordered the peach crumble and the creme brulee. The staff are super attentive and friendly. You get a five star experience at a three star price!
